Speaking of I found a bug in Diva arp it and posted it "Latest Diva Build" thread last week - still no attentionUrs wrote:The arpeggiator in Diva is actually more powerful than the one in Repro-1. I think what you mean is the sequencer
Is the Repro5 really happening?

I mean I understand differences in nature and emulation apporach between RePro-1 and Diva but could you please post some audio demo explaining?EvilDragon wrote: Sure, but not AS amazing as it is on RePro-1. Diva does many things great, but RePro-1 is a definitive step up.
Also I can't sell it And I can program it just fine.

Or, if Repro's sequencer is in "Always" mode (and Arp is on which makes it restart at note on), there should be an option for the sequencer to play only when keys are held like a traditional arp and stop when keys are released.Soarer wrote:One thing I miss is the synchronized start of an arp/seq when using it in "On Keys" mode (which I prefer over the "Always" mode). If you start a bit too late the arp you play doesn't sync.
This should allow for perfectly synced arpeggios.
Repro has no panning? Pretty odd I think...

That was the most playable sequencer ever in a softsynth! I miss it!!Urs wrote:
That said, an internal build of Diva once had a performance-orientated sequencer too. But it was maybe a bit too difficult to use because it lacked visual feedback and UI depth. Adding a sequencer isn't out of the picture, if we manage to dig out the old code and put some effort into development of visuals.

Hehe, probably true, but it still needs a lot of work to make it usable for everyone.pdxindy wrote:That was the most playable sequencer ever in a softsynth! I miss it!!Urs wrote:

Can't argue with that... it was a little deficient in the visual department!Urs wrote:Hehe, probably true, but it still needs a lot of work to make it usable for everyone.pdxindy wrote:That was the most playable sequencer ever in a softsynth! I miss it!!Urs wrote:

So that was more of a sequencer like the one in Repro 1?Urs wrote:Hehe, probably true, but it still needs a lot of work to make it usable for everyone.pdxindy wrote:That was the most playable sequencer ever in a softsynth! I miss it!!Urs wrote:

I'd still much prefer a stepped arpeggiator since it brings much more interesting results because you decide the notes to be played right there on the fly and doesn't need to be programmed. Of course these can go fine together.
Regarding the panning, I see that Jaws does some awesome panning! It's a really great effect that fits the synth perfectly.

No... it was quite different... there were a set of keys dedicated to performance, so you could 'record' a played sequence, and affect how it was being played in realtime. Of course it was squeezed into that tiny space in Diva so no visual interface to speak of. But that is the direction I'd like to see more software sequencers go... it is where software sequencers are really deficient (IMO) is in realtime control. They all basically just play back a static sequence with very little realtime flexibility for performance.Soarer wrote:So that was more of a sequencer like the one in Repro 1?Urs wrote:Hehe, probably true, but it still needs a lot of work to make it usable for everyone.pdxindy wrote:That was the most playable sequencer ever in a softsynth! I tried to use the Voice Map modulator as a modulation source for the volume in order to make Diva's Arp stepped but it doesn't really work since the voice map modulator doesn't restart at voice map mod 1.Urs wrote: That said, an internal build of Diva once had a performance-orientated sequencer too. Please Urs - grant us the stepped arp in Diva!
