I guess it's ok to post this now:

Got it for just over 300 USD. Why this one? The neck

Took me a couple of hours of polishing the fret ends but it's like a glove. Sound is ok, but ordered these:

Be sure to wire up a 3 way switch (series, parallel, single coil) to get the most out of that pickup. Not sure why Leo Fender chose parallel as the default for StingRay pickups, series has a lot more going on.

I've thought about that but the wiring is "pre" made for the cut outs in this bass specifically.

And, if your soldering is up to it, not too difficult to make for the bass of your choice (or put it into a pedal)

Well, I didn't want anything that wasn't made to fit this bass (i.e., drilling holes)

So, volume/bass/treble was what it was made for.
