I had to check the calendar .... nope, not April 1st...!!

After 15 years of using Reason less and less, and Ableton more and more, this could be a genuine game changer... using my Pianoteq and Waves in Reason? ...
Wow. That's all I can say.

I was so tempted to say "it wasn't me" :clown:

Been known this for a while, glad it's out now.
have you tried it with different VSTi synths, in AL9 a Spire instance eats 5-10% CPU (one core becuase AL uses one core per track) power of an Ryzen 1700X(3.4GHz), Reason will be quite same, how does it handle multi-core ?

I think it's a great development. I may even install the demo and give it a spin. My last attempt at using it seriously must have been around the time I tried ProTools LE as my first DAW. Around 2002?

VST support makes it a viable choice as a playing ground to get started with new ideas. Some of the reason devices are stellar. Adding my favorite U-hes and toontracks sounds like a killer combo. And with all the mixing and mastering VSTs I purchased over the past 8 years, VST really is a requirement for me.

Seems they offer alternatives to the hardware dongle now, too. That's probably old news to anyone but me.

That being said, STARTING really isn't my problem. I sketch out new ideas with Live and Logic all the time, my problem is finishing anything and I don't see how learning yet another tool could help me with that.

I also have a license for older versions of tracktion, Cubase and DP, none of which fixed the finishing problem for me, so it really must be me, not my tools...

What does this mean for the Rack Extension format? And for RE developers.

Is this a dream? :o

I really felt it like a dream when an email arrived from Propellerhead and I thought "More stupid news", and then "Oh! Wait! What?!!"

Wow! This really really made me respect some developers that act fast when they see a logic in a change or extension.

Is it too late for VST support? Hmmmm, I don't think so! It is a very good move IMO and I'm glad for Reasons owners. Now, they have more freedom to choose their tools.

If I wanted to have a new DAW, Reason would be very tempting and first on my list. However, I already have my setup complete and actually it is more than I need from DAWs, instruments and effects.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

hi, is there some idea about some MIDI clip system, would be nice IMO if at least the different arranger blocks can be triggered somehow independently from the main arranger, but dunno what would be the best (or is there some solution for this already) :?

We stay committed to the RE format and I think a lot of users will still get REs, especially if even more users come on board and get Reason. Personally, having used VSTs in Reason for a while now, it makes you appreciate the RE integration. I think they'll live side-by-side and people will buy the instrument, effect or utility they want. I've had tons of fun using CV generators and sequencers in the RE format to sequence VST instruments for example. And I still use tons of RE instruments and effects too, it's sleeker. :)

a very ginieus move! First you will make people think Propellerhead is bought then you will support VST. Now people will talk about now and forgetting whats was going on in the past. Congrats PH.
