Waveform Dev Update

Anyone else occasionally losing your mouse's ability to click on elements? I'm able to move the mouse around, but nothing happens with either a left or right click. It seems to be happening randomly to me, sometimes after five minutes in Waveform, sometimes after a couple hours. I can click on the x to close Waveform, but nothing inside the program itself. (The mouse works perfectly in Windows 10 and any other program while it's 'inactive' in Waveform.)

I'm using a Kensington Orbit USB, and updated the drivers just in case without effect. (Though obviously this is a Waveform specific thing as it has never acted like this in any other program).

I have seen that exact behavior before when the main window loses focus to a modal dialog box or child window that has popped up behind the main window. Sometimes you can restore the focus to the modal dialog/window so that you can deal with it, but sometimes it is not possible (e.g. the larger main window has an "always on top" window priority).

Some menus on Ubuntu 16.04 are not opening or just blink open and close right away, but most buttons still work and for me this isn't new, it was also happening with Tracktion7.

If you could let us know which window/modal combinations this happens with I'll see if there's anything we can do to avoid them becoming stuck. Thanks.

Right click sometimes just make the menu flashing on osx el capitan.
So it can't be clicked (specially when playback is running.

It happens since the 5 or 6 versions.

Althought no problem for the plug-ins i have used ez drummer, arturia and some others...

Hi there, could you elaborate a bit on what exactly it is you are right clicking on and what subsequently flashes? Maybe a short screen capture would help here?
Hopefully then I can sort out a fix. Thanks.

I test demo of waveform and i really was surprised how much it can do for that price. collector 1.0.4 i like because it sound good and have short load time and the idea is very good. but it suddenly stop play sound when i play for example live on keyboard. i need reload the sound. what currently i miss mostly is, that when a collector window is close and reopen, the browser select is on a default setting. I like for each instance can keep the settings or at least open with last setting. then a + - button to switch presets forward backward.

bugs i find

i notice that when save a sound as collsound with save, it is save and when load with load button the left side of samples is not update. only when i click on left side the number, then it is draw and the collsound is in a new line. how can overwrite current sound with load ?. do you plan to add, that from browser can select a sound and it can drag to sounds side left and it is load in so can better layer sounds ?. at least for sounds that use ony 1 sounds element this can work. currently i need save a sound as collsound i want and load it

I notice some sounds that use distortions setting medium and hard are extreme low volume. seem -40 db. can other confirm that Rock power chords and Soaring Rock Guitar Solo is too silence . i use 64 bit version of waveforms collective. the oscilator have no pan settings so it is not so easy possible to make fat sounds by tune 1 osc to left other to right or use double track guitar by choose for osc 1 on left side other guitar as oscilator on right side

I have song with drums and it happen that some drum notes are not play after some time. i can do video if you want see the problems i get. that collective stop play a sound suddenly happen random. i do nothing in GUI.

and last not least i want say, if it is usefull to have now 2 daws waveforms and tracktion. with 2 daws you can slower develop. and i btw do not see wy i need a tracktion version. or maybe you do tracktion cheaper and only without melodyne abd all other is same

ah and i forget to say. is it not possible to be able to faster switch track for midi input ?. maybe when click on left side and hold shift, the input can move. currently i drag and drop the input marker to track i want, because choose per menu the input take more time

The company name is still "Tracktion", but the product name has been changed to "Waveform", which would be the same as calling it Tracktion version 8. I assume that they will stop developing T7 at this point.

a suggestions for the pattern creator melody tool. currently it output notes with same size . if it is possible to load a midi clip that use only 1 note height and this can contain a rythm so 1. note is maybe 1/8 long. 2. note 1/16 then 1/16 gap and more notes. then have a rythm and it is possible with the paint tool enable and disable notes and it sound much better. same can do with the arp too

If you want to search for help with the new Waveform features such as the Pattern Generator, your best bet is to limit your searches to this official forum. This product was just released a month ago.

For general help with Waveform features that existed in T6 or T7, use the keyword "Tracktion" in your internet searches. Most of those legacy features are still used in the new version 8.
