No idea when this happened, but I can now load my public-domain MP4 movies into Tracktion to re-score.

Smooth, even playback even off my USB HD.

I saw that too and I was really pleased! but when I played the video it played back in a full-screen size that I could not find a way to shrink and it appeared behind the Waveform window. I had to shrink Waveform to see it.

On macOS the video playback was rewritten for Waveform. No changes on Windows. You can right click on the video to reduce its size or make it float on top.

Maybe a driver update on my side fixed things, then. Regardless, it's nice to be able to re-score "Plan 9 from Outer Space" in Tracktion...

I just gave it a try in the latest version of Waveform. It would not load an .MP4 file, but it did work on an .AVI file.
Windows 10 pro, i7 64 bit.
