A compromise requires mutual concessions, a one sided compromise
imposed on a weaker position by a stronger one, is called an ultimatum.

Anyway, I'll give it a shot, here is my request, or something along those lines.

Well, there were some suggestions made in this thread (no black panels with white on black text in light scheme), but sofar Dave 'dRowAudio' hasn't responded yet :(

I always loved the pastel colored GUI's of T4 thru T6 and very much wish such a scheme would be available in W8!
So how about sending them a colour scheme from when there was a colour editor or from when there was one you liked, and ask for something similar?

So the history to this is it's been removed, put back, removed, put back, and the devs have now said it's technically not going to work, but let them know what you want, and they'll try to accomodate. It's clearly causing them grief, because you don't code a skin editor multiple times, and remove it multiple times, if it's working fine. You can call that an ultimatum if you're particularly sensitive, but it doesn't get anybody anywhere really ...

I like your skin design, by the by ...

Adding a shade or two of gray to the color pallets is not something that can be done with a theme. My requests don't require a full-blown editor, but additional themes aren't the answer either. If everything is highlighted, highlighting sort of loses its meaning. When the tracks, clips and external remotes are set to overlapping colors, it becomes a bit of a rainbow clustered mess.

A subtle lightbox highlighting the externally controlled tracks would work really well instead of an additional overlapping color. Again not a theme issue.

I am pretty happy with the GUI in Waveform as I am long time user of Logic Pro which looks like a shit from 10.3 version.

Reviving an old thread, I know (and I'll make sure I'll post this in a few more similar threads)...
...BUT...
I've purchased ALL updates ever since Tracktion 2. That's right, it's been over 15 years. I love the Tracktion concept and workflow.
However I'm still using Tracktion 5, juste because I am able to fine tune the colour scheme, which is a big part of MY workflow.
(I know I could also use T6, but it's way less stable than T5).
Ever since T7, all their schemes have become - sorry to put it that bluntly - plain UGLY. Awful. Terrible.
I have made several requests, I have even sent screenshots of what my scheme looks like, to no avail.
You can choose between 7 terrible themes. I would be ready to actually PAY SEVERAL HUNDRED QUID, just to be able to use one that is acceptable to me - including BLACK waveforms and less vivid colours, just like in T5/6. Ever since this trend of “dark modes" has been around, form over function seems to be the way to go. The latest W11.5 update was the last for me.
I'll be sticking to T5 for as long as I can, while trying to get used to another DAW...
