Hi Folks,
Yes we are getting close to revealing more info on ANA 2.
All I can really say before the big reveal is it's a real joy to play
It's almost addictive. I just can stop noodling. The new modelled filters combined with our various filter env shapes makes for loads of variation from classics analog to totally modern sounds.
The multi chord memory stuff combined with the 64 step polyphonic arpeggiator opens up some crazy possibilities for sound design and writing workflow. It all sends out midi that you can record back in to your project ( well in ableton anyway).
Effects are all reveamped with dragable routing and send and return slots. Bunch of new distortions and new reverbs and some other weirder fx.
The OSCs sound great.. very clean. We have high resolution basics wave shapes +the standard 2048 3D wavetables like serum.. it's pretty much the same format as serum etc. So you can just drop those tables in.
The 3 main oscs all have PWM, Sync, and a sub (pulse, sine, triangle). The sampler is an extension of the noise & attack osc from Ana 1. We just combined those 2 areas in to 1 better all round sampler player. Has looping and x-fade etc.
We upped the unison voices from 8 to 9 (cause virus)
And we added some really cool code to minimise phase overlap. So the unison always sounds fat but still has great movement and that analogy variation.
We currently have retina and non retina gui. We might do a mid way one too. There will be selectable skins. Probably ship with the light one from the vids and a dark one.
It looks so good on a 4K monitor.
We are hoping to get some early Betas out next week to sound designers then will open it up a bit towards release late May early June.
We won't be a announcing pricing just yet... we havnt completely figured it out but it will be super competitive and upgraders from Ana 1 will be looked after.

Given that it will be superior to v1, how about these prices:
89 euros full
29 euros upgrade from v1
How is CPU load compared to comparable synths?

We have the sound designers pretty much nailed down for the factory stuff. But we will be starting work on DLC packs after release.
Pm if you are interested in making a pack and I'll hook you up with Chris our content manager.

So Virus is actually not that unimpressive?Phil Sonic Academy wrote: We upped the unison voices from 8 to 9 (cause virus)And we added some really cool code to minimise phase overlap. So the unison always sounds fat but still has great movement and that analogy variation.
Very much look forward to this update, hope it will put my Ana back into use
You may think you can fly ... but you better not try

Why don't you use v1.5, if I may ask?recursive one wrote:So Virus is actually not that unimpressive?Phil Sonic Academy wrote: We upped the unison voices from 8 to 9 (cause virus)And we added some really cool code to minimise phase overlap. Because I have better synths. Ana is decent but for most tasks where I may use Ana I have a synth which either sounds better or uses less CPU.fluffy_little_something wrote:Why don't you use v1.5, if I may ask?recursive one wrote:So Virus is actually not that unimpressive?Phil Sonic Academy wrote: We upped the unison voices from 8 to 9 (cause virus)And we added some really cool code to minimise phase overlap. Yeah it was one of the things I liked... having a center voice for the 9th unison gives some stability. I think we might have that voice also retrigging so you can get better attacks.. I'll have to check if that made it in.recursive one wrote:So Virus is actually not that unimpressive?Phil Sonic Academy wrote: We upped the unison voices from 8 to 9 (cause virus)And we added some really cool code to minimise phase overlap. We added some punch waves in the sampler which is the other thing from the virus I liked. You can get really plucky plucks. Ana 1.5 envs wernt attacky enough at times.
We have the ANA 1 env curve with faster attacks and wider curve options. And also a slower analog type env with slower attack and a bit of a hold for more of a twangy attack.
