EDIT: Holy shit, I have 55 REs. AT least 40 of which Ive paid for. I can't believe I've been funding those meatball-chomping bastards so heavily. I feel so dirty

I'm not even getting a semi-hardon for VST. Until I know whether I can run Melodyne to bounce guitar riffs into the MIDI sequencer. There are more than enough Rack Extensions for any person to create new vibes for an eternity.

You mean they actually plan to sell VST's in the Propellerheads shop?KarmaShaman wrote: I wonder how much the Serum VST will be when it debuts in the Prop shop?

That is my speculation, yes.chk071 wrote:You mean they actually plan to sell VST's in the Propellerheads shop?KarmaShaman wrote: I wonder how much the Serum VST will be when it debuts in the Prop shop?

Hm... wonder what the point would be. Every VST developing company already has its own distribution system. And PH isn't very likely to get along with shares of the revenues, when the companies didn't have to share revenues before offering in the PH shop. IMO, won't happen. At least i can't imagine it.

VSTs in Props shop allows direct marketing to an existing customer base. The value of us all on a 'list' has the potential to be worth many sales to major VST developers, and as prudent a 'marketing expense' to give Props their sale commission for facilitating many sales in a short period of time. 500 sales at 50% of full value is better than zero sales at 100% of the value.
If they did this, I also speculate that the extra feature is a 'one stop shop' for licence management, just like with REs.
You really don;t think the company would open the doors to virtually kill RE sales without a secondary revenue generating plan in place, do you?

Actually, i'm pretty sure they already did just that, by implementing VST support in Reason...
But, ok, that's speculating. Let's see how it will work out for them.

I was going to make some lame joke that nobody would appreciate, but I'll say this. I have quite a few, but I used the bejesus out of them (mostly) so it's fine. Plus I got mine on the cheap (comparatively)KarmaShaman wrote:I feel so dirty

Don't hold back on my account, honey. I live for crudity.
Looking at my account profile, there are many REs that Ive probably never even used nor know how to, so if I need some new stimulation I have plenty of toys to dick around with. Just cracked open the DR4 drum trigger. No freaking idea why I bought this, but it's pretty cool combined with some Eculid magic.
Perhaps I will go to my grave never installing a VST to use in Reason. Thus, i still see no value between 7.0 and 9.5 . Of course I don't believe the marketing horseshit from Props that the rest of you eat up like its your last supper.
God damn it I hate you all.

No more than it amuses everyone at Reasontalk that Reason is now such a hot topic over here at KVR...chk071 wrote:It amuses me that over at Reasontalk forum, they have a VST forum now, and eagerly discuss about the latest VST(i)'s now.Welcome to VST sluttery, Reason users.

Aw man, I took the "cool" route and it STILL didn't hold
Anyways, like I said, I've bought a shitload and I've used virtually all of them on a regular basis.
BTW, in case you hadn't noticed, I'm not usually a glass half-full person

It's going to get expensive, for sure. I've probably spent more on various VST/VSTi in the past 30 days than I have in the past 2 years! LOL!incubus wrote:For shizzle my nizzle, like I said over there, now you can have an unlimited supply of products to buy weekly (or daily)
