I have Miroslav first version that I got for $49 on sale. It is only 32 bit so I didn't use it much, but I recently found out it works with Sampletank. The new player looks a lot more complicated/useful. But I haven't figured out how much more content you get to make it worth the upgrade price. It doesn't sound like more than $100 worth.

I believe it's all 64 bit now. On the website you can see the list of new instruments in version 2. Also in version 2 all version 1 content in it's own section. I would say it's worth it.

Yes it is 64 bit. But what I was saying is that though the Miroslav player was only 32 bit, the samples will now play in the Sampletank 64 bit player.

I looked at the website but to me it wasn't that clear what the updates were. And? I've bought a lot of other better orchestra sections since I bought the original. So the update price is only okay.

Do you think the miroslav CE worth $42.5 if I have several samplers/romplers already? (Kontakt, Halion Sonic SE, Tracktion Collective, Xpand, Structure)?

Also, how long is the sale, Uncle E?

This sale price happens on a regular basis from what I've seen. It is more in line with Garritan personal orchestra than a sampler. I'm going to say if you need a starter orchestra it is a great deal for the sale price. But it isn't really what I would call a sampler because there are separate instruments and articulations.

Sorry, maybe I worded it wrongly. What I was trying to say is, I already have several basic orchestral sounds in the factory libraries of these mentioned samplers. I am asking is it worth it to get miroslav CE on top of the sounds that I already have.

A real orchestral library gives you a lot more articulations than what you normally find in a regular sample library. There are many different ways how you can play a violin or any other orchestral instrument. And a good orchestral library tries to capture as many of these articulations as possible. And the really good ones provide realistic ways to to move from one articulation to another. Miroslav CE is a very good entry level product in that respect. But all of these libraries have a bit of a learning curve if you want to use them well.

Exactly my thoughts as well. On CE you can save 2/3 while on the upgrade only 1/3. Why?

I imagine that IK is hoping many CE customers will eventually upgrade to the full version. Either that or they don't want to devalue the full version. IK and I worked on this deal for 2-3 weeks and I'm just happy to have gotten to do this deal at all!

It is a great price. Too bad I used Blackhole to get Anthology at a great price as well.

If you don't have Blackhole, this is a great deal on a cool reverb that is a lot more spacey than most of them out there.

LOL! I think I paid less for Anthology than it costs for Adaptiverb and or Wormhole. They both sound great, but the price hasn't been in my range yet, even on sale. I kind of like Pitchmap too.

Blackhole, T-Verb, Adaptiverb, and Wormhole are all great creative devices, especially for sound design and cinematic work. For a mix reverb that glues itself to the sound and makes things sound bigger than life, I think LiquidSonics Seventh Heaven can't be beat. It has replaced the UAD Lexicon 224 for me.

I was going to say it was too expensive, but I didn't realize they have a cheaper version.

I really shouldn't be spending the money after buying Spaces. How does it compare to Spaces?

And darn it. I've been researching Miroslav 2 as compared to the first version. It has rather mixed reviews, as in it is good but complicated, and there are better out there for the price. But with the extra discount, it is only $168 for the ugrade. I need to see what I have and whether it is really necessary. Truthfully, I think I have most of the instruments in better forms except maybe the woodwinds.
