Hey, u-hees
I am upgrading my computer and before buying Diva, known for high CPU use, I wanted to know what I would need to buy. I am looking at various refurbished small form factors with i7, 3.4 ghz, and Windows 10 (sometimes Win 10 pro).
is an i5 cpu adequate to run Diva?
Is the speed of the hard-drive important? Many computers have 5400 rpm.
The units I am evaluating have 8 Gig ram, but some have 16g. Is 16 that much better?
Thanks much!

Get the fastest, most powerful i7 cpu you can afford and base your computer around it.
Fast drives and much ram are only needed for sample library use (orchestras and choirs and the like).
Remember, a butch machine today will likely be a wimp in 3 years time.

If you don't need a laptop go for a custom build desktop, you will get much more performance for your money.
I could run Diva on an i5 but you run out of power faster, i7 is the way to go. All the new top of the line Ryzen CPUs are also excellent value.

I'm planning a new desktop build this fall. I'm waiting to see what Intel's price/product response on the i7 line will be to AMD's Ryzen cores. I am hoping we'll finally see some actual competition in the high-end desktop CPU arena.
Feel free to call me Brian.
