Curated no more:
Seems like Plugin Alliance has picked up on Waves idea of custom bundles, or is it the other way around?

Is this a clever way to sell more, extending a limited sale because of a "mistake" ?
Hello again!
A few days ago we set our Full Bundle on sale and it should cost only $30, but we made a mistake and the price on our site was actually $60. We're sorry for that. As this offer was available for the first three buyers only, I'm sure most people just left the page when they saw the wrong price there - that's what I'd do.
So, we're starting this sale again, and this time doing it right.
We're offering our Full Bundle for just $30. This offer is different for two reasons, though:
1. It includes a preoder of XXXXXX, which isn't even available for preorder yet, for no extra charge. The demo on our site features only 6 of the 20 sounds included in this sample library and some effects that will be available on the interface for you to use.
2. Right now we're selling the rights to one of our libraries, so this is probably the last time you'll be able to get all of our Kontakt instruments for such a low price.
The first three buyers who use the coupon code XXXXXX will get a $80 discount and take all of our 9 sample libraries + one coming up this month for just $30. Enjoy.

I bought their full bundle on a previous sale, before it included the Drunken Piano. It's really good for $30, and I'm actually tempted to pay the $30 to get the Drunken Piano and the new instrument

I guess I am just getting to be paranoid numanoid, thinking about the recent loop locker launch (nudge nudge don't share) and samplephonics/noiiz earlier this year spilling the beans too early.
This kind of approach makes users more likely to click to go to the page I think

Say what you will about Zero-G, but they are better than Cakewalk at migrating accounts.
I guess most users will no look closely at mails from them, but if you want to keep your old order history, need to do so by May 18.
But this means I cannot re-download any of my old orders, without contacting them first

Due to having a completely new download system, any download links from the old Zero-G website will not be attached to any previous orders in your new account.
If you would like us to resend a download link for any order placed before the 9th May 2017, please email us at support@zero-g.co.uk. Please make sure that you add any relevant details such as full name, email address and order number to the email.

Are you talking about Zero-G or Cakewalk?

Like Voxengo, their reasoning comes across like a type three error. It's the right answer, for the wrong reason.Numanoid wrote:Curated no more:

Curated bundles don't sell because they're overpriced, it's as simple as that. If PA priced the curated bundles at the per/plugin cost that people actually pay for custom bundles, then they'd sell more curated bundles. I buy plenty of curated bundles, as long as they're cheap enough.
If PA eliminates the mechanism that allowed people to get the higher discounts, they'll stop selling as many custom bundles as well. There's no mystery here, demand is a function of price.

True. The Plugin Alliance bundles are a great deal when compared to the plugins' normal prices and a lousy deal when compared to the plugins' weekly blowout sale prices.

But I struck out my comment, not happy with not getting download links transfered from the old account.
And according to my order history in the new account, my last order with them was July 2015. But I bought a lib from them just two weeks ago, why is that not in my list of orders ?

So what I have learnt today what is trending in deals:
-Mistakes in deals is an instant customer draw
-Customers prefer to customize their bundle, with added incentive of increasing discount with number of items ("step system")

Completely agree. If they indeed shoot themselves in the foot I'd like to think they'd have the insight to reverse or improve it, though. They seem like a relatively open conpany...compared to let's say, izotope.ghettosynth wrote:Like Voxengo, their reasoning comes across like a type three error. A lot of my old orders are missing too - I only have orders up to 2011 in my account at the moment. But I read somewhere on the site that in a few days all orders should be moved to the new accounts.Numanoid wrote:Zero-GUncle E wrote:Are you talking about Zero-G or Cakewalk?

It should automatically ask you to choose a midi pack once the code is added to your account. At least it did for me the last time I bought something from another site.audington wrote:When adding a retail copy of EZKeys to your Toontrack account, how do you go about getting the free EZKeys MIDI pack?

Re free Ezkeys Midi, thanks for that info. I just got note from Toontrack support that I'm not eligible as the purchase was made a few days after the promotion ended. That's fine, but it goes against what was posted in the bargain thread about the physical EZKeys Classic Electric (just as a warning to others!)
