Why Level meter and Volume&Pan in Mixer insert?

I would recommend erase Level meter and Volume&Pan from the mixer inserts and keep volume fader and pan knob instead as default.

poshook's saying that since there's a volume fader and a pan knob already on the mixer, you should remove the inserts - I'm guessing he doesn't realize the fader/knobs are directly linked to the inserts.
Might be worth adding an option to hide the linked inserts though.

But I think that having the inserts in the line up of your channel chain, allows you move them up and down - not that you would want pre or post faders... but I think that may be the reason.

I did think about this when writing the mixer but because the vol/pan can appear anywhere in the signal chain it's still useful to have the items there to indicate this. I wanted it to still reflect the original Tracktion mixer for consistency and so as not to confuse people new to Waveform.
I do agree that in most instances there will be only one though so perhaps we could add an option to hide the last one in the plugins section. It seems a bit overkill to add an option just for this though...

I think this is the best option. because I often use muti faders on tracks and sometimes I erase the fader of my folder track and also tracks I use to just hold midi and I like that the track will also have no faders on the mixer for those tracks when you erase the fader on a track, I also like when you add muti faders you can adjust the faders in the mixer, this is a good use for triming or adding gain to a signal.dRowAudio wrote:I do agree that in most instances there will be only one though so perhaps we could add an option to hide the last one in the plugins section.
