Just installed at lunch! Can't wait to play

I've loaded an old project in 2.1 andthere is no sound coming from vst tracks....the plugins are all loaded and working, I can see the audio signal coming out from the devices...but there is no sound in the track.

ANy one else?

I love the new right click erase. We need more of those kinds of updates. Probably low effort relative to some of the work being done but from a day to day workflow and user experience perspective it's very helpful. Amp is pretty cool. I'm not that keen on this sort of plugin upgrade, given the VST options out there, but it sounds good. I think Voxengo Span+ still won't show the side chain icon, so I can't use it to compare frequency profiles. Was hoping that would get fixed as I reported it some time back.

Had it in the first moment or so while downloading the nice new content. Just restart the app and it should be fine.

2.1 is launching faster for me... 10 seconds to fully ready on my MBP

On my system every VST was rescanned on first startup. Some VSTs in my system dont like that when they were missing while loading the project. After they are loaded they dont bring any sound at the output.
But its only on first startup when installing a new version of bitwig. Close Bitwig and start again - everything is as it should. :hihi:

Voxengo should work fine, could you try to close Bitwig, kill the cache folder and restart bitwig?

I did as you asked.. and loaded span+ and still no side-chain icon. However.. there are 2 editions of span+ that come when you get the plugin. I was using the vst3 version. The vst3 version has no side chain icon on the bitwig ui, but the vst2 icon does. So it's something to do with vst3 vs vst2 versions.

Restarted the app, now Bitwig hangs and it is not responsive, I can't even go in playback

About voxengo span with vst3, it justs declare one bus with 2 channels, so it is a bug from Voxengo SPAN.

I contacted their support to explain the issue, let's see what happens.

Ok thanks! I suppose they may have already updated it.. I should check if there's a newer version as well, if that's the case. When I first reported the problem I had the latest version, but it's been a few months since then.

Do you happen to know if the fabfilter plugins still have UI issues. With ... I believe it was Saturn, I could expand the UI to see side chaining options, but when I closed the extra UI the window would compress completely and I had to reopen it get a proper view again. I was running a demo at the time so I can't easily check myself. Is that something that maybe was fixed from 2.0->2.1? Note that pro-c2 and pro-L and pro-q2 all work fine for me. It was just some of the plugins I'm not currently running that I experienced UI problems with.

Yes, faster boot time here as well, on my MBP. Nice! I hated to sit on a train with 20 minutes to get work done and being forced to wait for about five minutes for 2.0 to load up.

Yes, Amp is very useful. But I really like the ability to slave sync to MIDI; that's my real fav here!

More snappy on my mbp as well. MIDI clock slave is the big one for me too. Also noticed that follow playback now works for launcher clips :wheee:

I really hope the dev team puts out a roadmap. I know that release dates can slip a bit, that's fine. But I would just like to know, roughly, what they have planned. Track freeze, track comping... Are these things coming within the next couple months? Or are they years away? I think it's reasonable to expect this kind of roadmap to be in place with a DAW that is still, in some ways, pretty immature.

@PhilipVasta

Here it is... your roadmap:

"A DAW For The Future

I am always very wary of judging, or even describing, features described as 'forthcoming'. As far as I'm concerned, when it comes to music technology, if you can't buy it now or take it home, it doesn't exist. Having said that, Bitwig are trumpeting two features which are potentially significant. One is a modular audio and synthesis environment — the same one that's been used to build the factory devices, made available for anyone to create new instruments and effects — and the other is a facility to network multiple computers to collaborate on a single project, in real time. While you should never buy a product based on what the vendor says is coming up, it's worth being aware of where this particular DAW might be heading."
