One thing though:

The flipping thing totally made sense to me; the current disconnect
is doable but definitely less intuitive. Would it be doable to restore this functionality in a future update ?

Yes, on mac. And yes, the instructions are what i followed and i'm still getting the permission error.

Can you please help? i appreciate the link but thats what i have already... I'm sorry, i'm not a data programmer, just a musician.

edit: when i enter the line in terminal i get 'permission denied'.

Not crashing anymore here as well.

Unfortunately with my Push1 the display
- is lagging up 30sec
- not changing at all
- and shows tracks from already closed projects (maybe it's just very long lag)

Some steps to reproduce:
- have fresh project
- Ctrl + T some tracks = display is some seconds behind, top row buttons are fine
- group a random Track = takes several seconds until displayed
- close project = display keeps Tracks from the last project

BWS 2.1
Sierra 10.12.3

Just downloaded and installed. Its starts and also Bitwig but the log in Push2Display just keeps listing

Error in command array: No enum constant push22bitwig.model.ChannelType.INSTRUMENT

and the display is blank. Any ideas? Perhaps I have installed something wrong. I just put the extension in the extension folder and then started run.command

Iam on a Mac using 10.12.4 and Bitwig 2.1

As others have said, thanks for this brilliant piece of work and getting me away from Live

Solved my problem. Noticed I was starting the old version of Push2Display. Once I replaced it with the new files everything starts as expected.

Does this new Push2display folder replace just the old Push2display or the entire Push4Bitwig folder?
Either way i'm still getting the same outcome. I feel like such a spanner, sorry Moss.

Not quite sure what to do with Push2display folder( does it replace the previous one for the version 2.0 script
If so It seems I would still be using the old script
I did install the "DrivenByMoss.bwextension" in the location indicated in the WIKi, I see it in Bitwig menu When you add controllers manualy
but when added it does nothing with the Push 2 The old version of the script was still installed so I disabled it still nothing
I tried to atomically install an it finds the version 2.0 script
Also be aware in menu for add contoler manualy the old version 2.0 script shows as "Push 2 (by Jurgen Mosbgrabber)", the version 2.1 shows as "Push 2 (Push4Bitwig by Jurgen Mosbgrabber) please explain

I guess you need to open the console as administrator. Please google how to do that, I am not a Mac user.

BTW This horrible installation nightmare will be gone in the near future when the next Bitwig update is coming up, since this will allow to integrate that tool into the Extension.

Really great script !
Seems to be working really fast again, especially with the group and layer selections.

1.
There seems to be an "error" when selecting tracks.
When I switch between tracks on the push2 :

Switch from Track 1 (synth) to Track 2 (Drums) the tracks are selected but not the clips in the scene.
This means that when playing a synth on track 1, use push to move to track 2, the drum patterns/notes are not displayed on the push and I need to manually select the track 2 clip in the software with mouse click.
Is this a Bitwig limitation or Push2 script?
Maybe add a rule to select the clip of the selected track (in playing scene/ or arranger) when switching tracks?
I can remember that it worked with the previous script.

2.
When using drumtracks (note mode drums) in a track group, switching from other track back to the drumtrack does not remember the tracks note mode. (instead of drums shows piano mode).
Specifically when using group within a group.
Drums main group > Kick channel
Drums main group > Drumsoverhead group > Hihats channel (drum maschine)

It's a Bitwig limitation. We need an option to 'select clips/slots when selecting tracks'. Please write to support (i've requested this multiple times)
