There are rumors that Respire is a cut down version of Spire. It was also pulled for instability. Check Reasontalk for more info. Spire does go on sale from time to time.bharris22 wrote:I've got $50 burning a hole in my pocket and am debating between 2 very different purchases - Sonokinetic Ostinato Strings or Reveal Sound ReSpire. I have NI Session Strings, so am not sure if Ostinato gives me much more than that. After Propellerhead announced that Reason will now support VSTs, I told myself there is no reason to purchase Rack Extensions any more, but I don't own Spire and $59 seems to be a cheap way to get it. Any thoughts regarding this very difficult decision would be appreciated!

I'd like to make sure that buying REspire gets me Spire as well. Some developers see to that, and given the fact that Reason is opening up to vst plugins, I would think others will too.

I have to admit that I was also on the fence on this offer from VSTBuzz but ended up going for it, mainly because this is a young and highly productive developer I wanted to support. I already had one of the TLH libraries. Imo the quality and selection of the provided samples and instruments is on par with more established companies such as Impact Soundworks. The GUI is minimalistic, which might be a bit of a turn off at first, but I actually came to appreciate that a lot.Ryan99 wrote:I was also interested, but after watching the Samplelibraryreview.com video for the Hybrid bundle, it was not something I liked.murnau wrote:Saw the videos, not impressed.
I was mainly interested in the Pulses Anthology library which is only covered very briefly in most of the reviews. This is a type of library that can be used in a much broader context, not only for film scoring or trailer music. It lends itself towards many forms of electronic music. It follows the same philosophy as the 8Dio Blendstrument series (which I absolutely love).
Now that I played around with it a bit I have to say that it did not disappoint. Contrary to most of the reviews out there, I find that this is actually the stand out library of the bundle. You might not like the fact that the individual samples are not labelled, so it is virtually impossible to recreate a pulse that you did to save. But if you like things with a "random" button that gives you a different and useful result every single time you press it, that library might be something to consider.

I actually sent Reveal Sound an e-mail about this earlier today, and received a quick reply from them. They say that if you send them a screenshot of the Propellerhead "My orders" page where they can see the order details, they will send a discount coupon for purchasing Spire VST for $130. Thus, to me there doesn't seem to be a downside. At $59 I could use ReSpire in Reason until I am ready to purchase the VST version, and at the regular, non-sale price of $189, when I eventually fork over the remaining $130 I will have both the VST and Reason versions. $59 even for 800 presets seems like a good deal . . . . I think I'm going to go for it.Fleer wrote:I'd like to make sure that buying REspire gets me Spire as well. Thanks. It looks interesting. I have OT's steel strings and the strawberry one. I'm really interested in the electric one.Armadillo wrote:Have you seen this video?dzilizzi wrote:How do you like working with Sunbird? I can't find much on Acoustic Samples guitars review wise. When I started adding the things up that I actually wanted in the Wave alchemy deal it was less than $50, so no point spending $99 then.![]()
And with Acousticsamples I already have Sunbird, and the other 2 I'm much less interested in, so no point buying that either.
I much prefer the deals where 1 instrument is reduced 50% or more.
It's my preferred guitar for strumming. Very easy to strum your own pattern, and most importantly, it sounds quite realistic.
For picking I think Orangetree's steel guitar sounds better, but their strumming engine is just not as easy to get convincing results from.

Do the 3 Guitars use the same strum patterns, or are the strum patterns different for each guitar?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.
