MUltraMaximizer: Presets? A >Good< setting?

MUltraMaximizer has no presets (has it?). So as I am not a hero in mixing I could need a little help. I wanted MUM on the master track, but either I dont hear a difference (soft) or everything sounds too distorted (clip). With a limiter I come to much better results. What could be my problem?

There's actually not much to do, you should basically increase the input gain (drive) until the point the loudness is as you want it, that's all
. The rest of it is if you want something special, and since you probably don't, the task is easier
.

Mhhhh. Did so. And ... its simply getting louder, its getting over 0,00, its clipping, its not really getting more >loudness< and I need a limiter after it. It works like simply increasing the volume fader. Am I doing wrong?

Exactly! It looks like you are increasing output gain. Note that you must NOT disable the saturation section, otherwise you WILL get overs. The possibility is there exactly for those who want to run a single band limiter after it (this one is multiband and multiband limiters naturally produce overs, that's what the output saturation section is there for ).

"you must NOT disable the saturation section"
This was my issue! (I thought with less parameters turned on I could explore MUM in a better way ...)
Now I hear the difference and it works so well!
Thanks a lot.

Very well, my pleasure!
