Hello! We are proud to present Muze, a multi-reverb VST/AU plugin that combines a 3D audio mixer with a high quality binaural near & far field model. The mixer component enables tight control over the early spatial impression of the acoustic field while psychoacoustic models add essential directional cues to help localize sound; our reverb design integrates with the binaural cues, giving appropriate contrast for the early spatial impression to sit in.

Muze supports up to 8 input channels with an additional ninth summation channel that doubles as a delay unit. Channels are associated with point sound-sources in an interactive graphical display and have separate processing paths that come together in a shared reverb component. Create whisper effects, wide impressions, impossible spaces. Up-mix mono sources into stereo/binaural. Virtualize 5.1+ to headphones by placing virtual speakers on the sound-stage. Switch to the panning mode for speaker setups.

Features:
  • 9 reverb algorithms (Velvet, Lime, Twister, Indigo, Solarium, Osmose, Hedera, Zyphire, Neptune) model characteristics of specular/diffuse, discrete/echo, modulated, shimmered, swelling, detuned, dissipated, bloom, and gated reflections.
  • 8 channel virtualization, each with automatable azimuth, elevation, and distance controls
  • Adjustable listener controls for scaling interaural time delay and aligning yaw/pitch orientations
  • Spin knob enables automatic head-rotation, unleashing new possibilities for different modulation effects
  • Unique spatial-reverb design integrates specular & diffuse sound reflections with the HRTF model, producing an immersive reverberant field
  • Reverb characteristics such as room size, sound depth, high frequency dampening/reverb times are automatable
  • Delay unit integrates with the reverb, creating DUB-type effects
  • Rendering modes togglable between binaural/panning processing
  • All sampling rates supported for HRTFs
  • Graphical display for visualizing sound-sources & listener position and orientations
  • 175 presets to get you started

Best of luck with the product.

I love music, worked with a number of music/rhythm/dance games like Pump It Up, In The Groove, Cytus and Deemo, and teach music production.

I beta-tested this product and suggested a feature that was incorporated. It's a great product for not just for virtualisation and stereo imaging but some really wild or subtle modulation due to spin. It's hard to describe and not what you expect.

When I read about it, I thought about going to a metal concert and headbanging, and what that would sound like being 100 ft from the speakers. The thing is, the spin can go a lot faster and do infinite 360s which your head can't. So try the demo!

It can get really interesting when you play with the interaural time distance (ITD), so you can find out what it's like to have a big head. I like automating several parameters including ITD and the room size.

yellowmix and the other beta testers did a great job. They recommended several key features that found their way into the final product.

Excuse the uninformed question, can this also be used when listening via speakers or is it only intended for listening with headphones ? (that's what I associate with 'Binaural', could be completely wrong though.)

When the spatialization switch is on, listening should be done with headphones as you don't want any cross-talk between left-right output channels. When off, listening is either/or depending on how you want to handle the cross-delays (e.g. you can set ITD to 0 and the output reduces to a type of panning) if you're on speakers.

Thanks.

oh no! This GUI is horrible to look at - what have you done? Things like that look like cheap gimmicks. I'm interested in such plug ins but the GUI is over the top and higly distracting for me (synesthetic listener).

Get this man a monochrome skin stat!

It's not only the colours - the whole thing is full of ornaments and distracting shades and elements ...
A GUI I like a lot for example is the one Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve has. That Muze thing is stressful. From my work areas I feel directly appealed by what it does but the gimmicky GUI goes really to far.

Fantastic plugin for 3D / Binaural productions .
Very powerful !

Need to demo this but damn that GUI is ugly...colors, fonts, everything.

If you use the reverb + the spacialise mode, you get a very interesting reverb sound that sounds like no other reverb plugin I know.

This plugin is way more interesting than the GUI may suggest at first look (sorry, I agree, couldn't be uglier). I really like the reverb sound you get with both modules engaged, easy new reverb sound when you need one to stand out in the crowd. This is a very nice surprise ! :tu:

HUGE CPU usage though...

EDIT : Purchased !

The CPU usage is common with many HRTF algorithms. Here, the performance depends on several factors: Quality, spatialization switch, and whether you're spinning. In general, increasing quality by every unit, engaging spatialization, spinning, will double the CPU usage.

For a general estimate of the defaults, quality=3 and spatialization on gives 2-3% CPU on my laptop. No-spatial brings it down to 1-2%. Spinning brings it up to 4%. Turning the reverb off alltogether brings it down to 0.3%.

As for the GUI. I tried! :ud:

My biggest problem with the GUI might be the pink shades in the bottom left and upper right corner.

But I really LOVE the sound, so the GUI doesn't matter !

I couldn't be more in love with the plugin at the moment ! When the spacialise mode is engaged you instantly get a huge reverb sound that sounds supermassive on drums ! I LOVE THIS !
