Hi
Can anybody please enlighten me as to how I should set up Spectral Dynamics in MXXX for spectral ducking?
I'm wanting to sidechain a vocal to Spectral Dynamics inside MXXX (I only have MXXX and not MSpectralDynamics) so that it carves a spectral hole out of the mix for the vocal to sit in, as discussed in this Soundbytesmag article?
http://soundbytesmag.net/spectraldynami ... continued/
I have MXXX as an insert on the instruments sub mix bus and I'm ok sidechaining the vocal to this bus. What I'm unsure about is how to set up the Modular Editor in MXXX to facilitate spectral ducking. Can anybody please explain exactly how to do this? Which lane the SpectDyn module should be in, and the correct inputs/sidechain stealing assignments etc?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for your help jmg8. So you mean like this?
I had actually already tried that configuration but it didn't seem to have the desired effect. Perhaps I just now need to learn how to set the other controls appropriately?! I've only had MXXX for a couple of days, so spectral dynamics is new to me and seems quite a complicated beast. Hopefully one that I can learn to tame. Thanks again.

Ah! How did I miss that!?
There's a little sidechain button on the Spectrum panel. Excellent! Thanks again jmg8.
