I know, a bit silly but if people rely on notes it might help.

Edit: a doesn't seem to be alive anymore. Maybe one can find it elsewhere in the net.
Great idea for a VST Plugin! Thanks Maki, if I get frustrated, I'll try tracking this down. :tu:
Melda production makes a free VST for per track notes. Just insert it on your track, and there you go. No effect on performance.

hm, since you can blend out most stuff in arrangement view ist plenty of space imo.

Still less spaces than version one

At this stage all I am really looking for is the same as many others on MIDI. Want to work with all channels. Pretty please, can we have this?

1. midi groove template
2. midi groove template
3. midi groove template
4. midi groove template
5. midi groove template

as a hiphop producer, i'm not buying upgrade until midi groove template is implemented.
i just love to use mpc grooves, sp1200 grooves and bunch of swing grooves from template.

i heard it is on their list but not primary.
so i'm, patient.
now i work just a draft with bitwig's layered editing and note editor (which i love), then move on with ableton.

Nothing that magical about the MPC grooves, they are just plain shuffle:

Was ripple editing already mentioned in the thread? This is great when you want to change something in the middle of the song.

It means that when you move a clip, everything after it moves also proportionally. I've been missing this surprisingly many times.

But really, I'm mostly actually quite happy with BW already.

I think the time stretch is the only thing anymore that manages to piss me off nearly any time I work on things. It's good for DJing though, since it preserves the transients much better than Elastique, that everbody else is using. But for sustained sounds there should be a better option, like just now it's been destroying vocals on a track I'm working on pretty badly. Luckily there's so much going on, that the glitches can't be heard really in the outcome.

'delete(remove?) time' works well for that

Ah, I got to try that! Still lots of things I'm not completely aware of in BW. Can it also add time?

Yes it can. Highlight some time in all your tracks with the time tool. Then in the Time menu, select insert time (or insert silence maybe). Everything inside that area of time gets shoved to the right, including automation. Be sure to highlight all the tracks you want to shove. If you highlight just a few, you might not get the results you expect.

My top feature requests?

1. I would love to see the collaboration revisited. Local network collab would let me use both Surface and desktop for their unique strengths, simultaneously. Web network collab, I think it would be a wonderful way to work with someone else on a project.

2. The audio time stretching algorithms seem a bit, chincy. Currently, I feel that I would rather do the warping in Ableton, then import better stretched clips into Bitwig.

3. As nexttrack mentioned, better groove support would be quite nice indeed.

4. An innovative idea here, would be microtuning support in the DAW. It's such a pain to get a track microtuned, and by the time you get there, you may end up with something you don't like. So you have to try a different microtuning, then you get frustrated and give up. You've got MPE support, so could each note have its own pitch bend that gets automatically applied given a global microtuning template? Even if I just manually typed in the Hz for each note in the scale, that would be tremendously awesome. I have experimented with microtuning in the past, and the results are very refreshing, but I don't like to do it often, because it's such a pain. (You are good friends with Urs Heckman right? He might have some good ideas here. U-he has some good microtuning implementation, but we just need to bridge the gap with the DAW)

5. When I click on a volume fader (maybe the background just to the left or right of it to "select" it), I want to be able to press the up or down arrow to change the volume by 1 dB. Or ctrl-up/ctrl-down for 0.1 dB. I did that in Ableton a whole bunch during the mixdown. If this is already possible, please tell me how!

Thanks, you guys rock. You pried me away from Ableton and I never thought I would leave Ableton. I love you man!

Please add a per note random modulator

In case you missed it, classic lfo does that. Select the stepped random form, pull down the rate and activate note trigger. Won't hold the value forever but long enough for most use cases.

thanks... that is what I currently do... however, I would still like a random that has no time limit. Also, it would also be useful if the Steps modulator had a mode where each note would make it step, like the modmappers increment in u-he synths. One of the most useful functions in any synth!
