MDynamicEQ - Harmonics

Hi Vojtech
I have a sound in a mastering context that is a bit loud, especially around 380hz.
This sound also has some healthy upper harmonics and I thought I might be able to engage the harmonics so that they get pulled down a touch too when MDynamic EQ grabs onto the main 380hz fundamental of the sound when it occurs.
Unfortunately, these floating harmonic bands are also generating reduction from their own frequencies, whether the main band exceeds it's threshold or not.
Is there a way to make them only reduce in tandem when the threshold exceeds the main original band?
I thought there might be a way to achieve this by using the bandpass detection in the advanced Dynamics panel. I configured the high and low pass detector filters to only detect between 300 and 450 so that only the main band gets triggered, not it's harmonics, but this seems to disallow GR in the harmonic floating bands entirely.
Am I missing something? Is there a way to get a band's harmonics to duck only when the threshold exceeds the main band?
If not, can I request a pref to allow this behaviour as it would make this type of processing far more effective and transparent.
Cheers

I once thought I had mono for an entire year. It turned out I was just really bored...

...if I understood your question then the solution is found in the settings at the bottom of each "floating band's" expanded options panel under "harmonics", where you can choose which "overtones" are activated and by how much...hth.../s~

Yes, I realise this, thanks Steve.
My issue is that these harmonic bands are reacting dynamically to their own frequencies independently of the main band's frequency and causing unwanted attenuation, even when the main "fundamental" band is not reacting.
I need them to ONLY duck in tandem with the main band's gain reduction when it and it alone exceeds it's threshold.
I hope that makes it clearer.
Cheers

Does MDynamicEQ have a sidechain function? If so, sending a low pass filtered version of the track into the sidechain might be a viable workaround.

That won't work either as the harmonic bands won't trigger. I u der stand what the OP is saying. There need to be a new switch that locks the harmonics dynamics to the fundamental dynamics. It is a good idea.
A work around could be to set it all up manually with the modulators.

Yes jmg8
You got it!
The issue I had with this particular mastering job, is that i configured MDynamic EQ to do a great job of settling the main body of the sound back into the mix, but it now sticks out because it's upper harmonics are louder relative to the fundamental, so it appears harsher and less warm.
The way you can add a slope (diminishing gain) to the harmonics means this workflow that I am suggesting would make light work of this problem and I'd have more scope to attain a natural sounding result.
I tried what cron essentially suggested using the advanced bandpassing options which restricts the frequency range the detector reacts to. Unfortunately, as I described above, this deactivates the harmonics from activating at all, even when the main band exceeds threshold.
A simple switch to lock the harmonics to their "parent" band and only react in tandem with it, would be the best addition to the plugin for this scenario.
Cheers

Thanks Vojtech
I can imagine good creative uses for this in a production/mixing context too.

Thanks anyway
If I ever upgrade, or the regular version gets discontinued and replaced with MAutoDynamicEQ, I 'll be sure to try it.
