Losing modified factory presets

I noticed that when I load a factory preset in S1 and change it, those changes seem to linger in some memory, and even reloading the original factory preset in that instance of S1 loads the modified factory preset again instead of the original.
Is it supposed to be that way? Other synths don't seem to do that.
If S1 had a compare feature like Waves plugins it might make more sense to keep modifications, but without?!

With my own patches saved in my own folders the original patches are restored whenever I reload them.

When you load a factorybank, you're loading all 512 presets in that bank into Sylenth1's memory. All changes made to any preset in that bank are saved in your project file, so when you load the project back up it'll have the same state of 512 presets where you left off.

You can restore any preset changes to the last saved project state via MENU -> Preset -> Reset.

To get the original factory presets back, just reload the same factorybank from disk (MENU -> Bank -> Load/Factory).

I see. I don't like the way that works, it doesn't match my "mental workflow". I have always hated the idea of dealing with banks.
So, I will simply refrain from messing with the factory presets and stick to my own individual presets and instrument category folders :tu: Since those are Windows folders, I can also sort my patches by change date, alphabetically etc. Making backups is also simple.
