Recreating something possible in that U-He synth with another U-He synth

Hey,

I often (try to) reproduce things done with one of my synths with another one. I often succeed... and I often fail, ah!

So I thought that such a topic could be pretty useful to several of us, to ask if something similar is doable, and if so, how?

For exemple, I've been trying to replicate, using Bazille, the way a VCO's waveforms combine in Diva when using the Dual VCO (for example a saw and a Pwm)... but can't get anything similar enough. Any tips?

Yes, this is a good exercise.

Bazille has 4 OSCs, so you can combine like you want?

Can you name a Diva patch which you are try'ng to clone on the Bazille?

My own patch I'm afraid ;) It's a monophonic legato lead, with some glide, LPF (and Env2, with some sustain) modulated by Velocity so that the Cascade 24db/octave LPF opens up and down depending on how I play the melody. Both EGs are quite snappy, with a nice dose of release. That's the kind of sounds I love to send into a copious amount of reverb. The tone/timbre sounds quite close to what you can get with an SH101 or a MC202 (I've always loved these kinds of sounds).
Basically, load the Dual VCO component, it's all about the way two shapes of a single VCO combine / interact: do they add up? Do they multiply? What do they modulate and how?

Semi offtopic, but i was thinking about recreating AZ Dawn from Bazille into Serum, mostly as a sound design excersize and getting to know Serum more.. I already brought the patch over to BeatZille, allthough i don't need it since I now have Bazille.

I do this a lot :)

70% success, 30% fail.

It's a good exercise to really see what are the differences between the synths.

It's always insightful. I think I now know Diva like the back of my hand, and can get intuitively to pretty much most sounds I want with her. But eh you know how it goes: you know / understand everything... until you don't :D
Here it's more about "going way further" with a given sound than anything else really.
Bazille is a whole different beast, I'm more and more hmm fluent with it and love it to bits. Sometimes I just wish I could load Diva's components (OSC/filters) in it though. That'd certainly be my desert island synth... along Zebra 3 ^^

They add / mix up.

Should be possible. Basically it's 2 saws, panned hard L/R, 24 db LP, some sequencing and delay.

I could try in Massive (my recently bought synth)... :D
