DAW Essentials unusable with Bitwig 2.x

The parameters set in the DAW Essentials are not saved with the project in Bitwig 2.0 and 2.1. Any other plugins have their parameters saved within the project. Load a patch in Uhbik-Q, change the output gain, save the project, quit Bitwig and restart it, reopen the project, the output gain setting is the one that was modified. Load TEqualiser, add one EQ point, save the project, quit Bitwig and restart it, reopen the project, the TEqualiser point is gone. Same with TChorus and probably with all others. This makes the DAW Essentials unusable. System is Linux.
It is a grey zone in which each party can throw the ball at each other. Which I'm afraid will not solve the problem for some time. Bitwig can say that since all other plugins work, it's the plugin manufacturer that is doing something wrong. Tracktion can say that it's Bitwig not doing something right. I've mentioned it in Bitwig's forum, no reaction. Next step is to raise the issue on Bitwig support, if there's no ACK from Tracktion.

Sounds like a bug. Report it to both vendors, someone will fix it.

Thanks for the report, we are also looking in to this and why the behaviour differs in other hosts.
We have some ideas of how to fix this though so will try and get out a fix as soon as possible.

Was there anything found ? Was there an update released ? It's too bad to have the DAW essentials and not being able to use them at all in any Bitwig project.

Hi, a fix has been made, it's currently in testing, hopefully released soon.

If you need any additional beta testing, please send some binaries this way. Bitwig and u-he are doing it by giving beta releases to people to test, so it seems to be a valid way.FigBug wrote:Hi, a fix has been made, it's currently in testing, hopefully released soon.

Update: Tracktion gave me some binaries to test and their update solved the problem. Now the parameters of the plugins are saved within the Bitwig 2.1.1 sessions.
A question: as Tracktion customers, do we get notfied by email of available updates ? Of course, it's not to worry about the DAW essentials because of how it turned out but, I wonder if for instance if there are any Biotek update since I bought it. I could check the website and the version, but it would be nice to get an email about updates. So, are customers emailed about updates ?
Thanks.

Waveform checks for updates when you start the program. Don't know know about the plugins though.

We're in the process of improving our update notifications so you'll be notified of all relevant products updates when starting Waveform or the various plugins. This should mean you won't miss updates even if you run in other hosts.

OTOH, you have all the emails of paid customers. You could simply email to all of them notifications about updates. I don't think that updates will happen so fast that they'll be considered spam !dRowAudio wrote:We're in the process of improving our update notifications so you'll be notified of all relevant products updates when starting Waveform or the various plugins. Yes, we do this for products that don't currently have an update checker but it's not as effective as the emails often get deleted and then forgotten. This means they're only "single hit". It's not really conducive to the way people update software.mevla wrote:OTOH, you have all the emails of paid customers. You could simply email to all of them notifications about updates. With an update checker, you will get notified whenever there is an update waiting so seeing that is more likely to coincide with a suitable time to update.
