Rough Rider 22017-06-05T14:43:58+00:00Just saw this in the sidebar.
Heard a lot of good things about the first version but never got around to checking it out.
Good time to finally give it a go and see for myself.

One of my personal favourite compressors. Not a fan of the new GUI either - but it's free so two thumbs up from me. What really made my jaw drop was not the interface but that it supported VST3 - I remember some years ago when Chris essentially explained that VST3 was the child of Satan and they would never support that format
My only gripe with the GUI is the addition of numerical readouts. I liked the old one, with the whole sensation of "I'm not sure exactly what this is doing, but I like it," which seemed to align with its design as a tool that was meant more for brute force than precision. Tuning compressors by numbers kind of takes a lot of the fun out of it, but that's just my uninformed opinion. I'm more into the composition aspect than the engineering side anyway.
Cognitive overload? Maybe you should step away from the computer for a while, then...
