Mac interface of choice with Tracktion?

After 2 years of trying to coax my Echo Layla 24 into properly working on my aluminum powerbook I've just about given up! The last year has been nothing but clicks pops and glitches... forget about using their midi on even a single instrument without hell happening! I believe it's just their drivers or how it works with Tracktion in particular. I've called multiple times and they just say "well, no problems on this end".
So, first I must learn to use e-bay, and next find a good replacement. Which interface can give me at least 2 in / 4 out audio that doesn't glitch and click? I want to be able to route at least a stereo chanel out through effects. MUST be completely glitch free.

The m-audio external boxes all work well, usb and firewire. Most of the problems I've read about are with the pci cards.
Try osxaudio.com for some reviews of other interfaces.

I've used both a MOTU 828mkII and a Tascam US-122 without trouble
