Sylenth 3.0.3.2 / Reason 9.5

I have Sylenth 1 VST 3.0.3.2 VST loaded to Library/Audio/Plugins/VST
Reason 9.5 does not see it
Has anyone else had the same difficulty and how was it overcome.

Yep, tried that.
Reason still not seeing or listing the VST

You haven't mentioned anything about operative system, bit depth (32/64-bit), if you have any other VST plugins working in Reason (or if Sylenth1 is the first one you are trying), if you have pointed Reason to scan this folder and so on.

If a plugin crashes during the scan, it will be blacklisted and disabled for use. In this case you can check if you can find it in the plugin manager in Reason. From there you can enable the plugin again.

No problem with Sylenth 3.0.3.2 here on Win 10.

What version of OSX are you using exactly?

In Reason please click from the top menu bar Window -> Manage Plugins

Is Sylenth1 listed there? And if so, what's the status?

Thanks for your interest I am using Mac 10.10.5/2.26Ghz/8GB ram Bit Depth 64
I had one other VST running in reason, reason was pointed to the right folder.
This inspired me to create a folder labeled Other VSTs within my Library/Audio/Vst folder.
Into this I put Sylenth vst.
Pointed reason to scan for the Other VST folder.
Result!!!

Glad you managed to find a workaround. Since you have a Mac I guess I wouldn't be able to help you any further.

And I guess by owning a Mac myself, I would have recognized the path and spared you from the OS question

It's not a workaround really. Just install Reason and Sylenth1 and it'll work out of the box on Mac. No need to change or set any folder locations at all.

Seems he moved Sylenth1 to another location manually, which is why Reason didn't find it.

I did not have the 'work out of the box on Mac' experience.

There is no explaination as why the 'work out of the box on Mac' did not happen for me.

What exactly inspired you to create a new VST folder? And why do you think that'll somehow make any difference?

When you install Reason and Sylenth1, they both will use the default VST folder so everything will work right out of the box. If you change the VST search path in Reason manually, or move the VST out of the default folder then it'll not work of course.

Possibly there was a problem with your file permissions (this can happen if you moved a drive from another computer or OSX installation), which is why it didn't find it in the first place. And then you fixed it by running the Terminal commands, but Reason didn't rescan until you moved it to a new folder and added that to the search path. Either way, you should be able to just move Sylenth1 back to the default VST folder!
