The new EchoAudio (LaylaG3/GinaG3) products are now bundled with Tracktion. Did Mackie buy these guys out? The Tracktion link goes right to Mackie.

Hmmm interesting. It appears they have entered into a cross licensing agreement. I have always liked ECHO stuff. I was looking at the web page and see they even give out driver source code for their cards.

I think they're aimed at different markets. The Layla unit is very expensive (relatively speaking) and would be right at home in an expensive studio.. whereas the Spike is something that a home or small project studio would find more affordable. I notice that Tracktion only comes with the Layla or Gina and not the "inexpensive" MiaMIDI card...

..of course, I might be talking out my arse and it's really just another step in Tracktion's rise to world dominance!
