I'm running @1920x1080

I now quickly tried a lower resolution (1360x768), this however had no effect on the problem

Could you make a screen recording of the crash? There is step to reproduce this that we are missing (zoom level, user interface config, etc) .

There are some free screen recorders here: http://www.hongkiat.com/blog/win-screen ... softwares/

Post

I don#t think there is a step missing. Obviously it depends on my machine somehow...

I'll have been thinking about making a recording myself though...

'kay, here's a quick Video

But now I also nailed the bug: I'm totally used to right-clicking to lasso something in - which visually works in Waveform - as you'll see in the video you couldn't tell what I am doing "wrong" to cause the crash...

Post

So is this going to get fixed?

Post

We've tried on many different machines and haven't been able to reproduce it.
Can you try the latest beta (v8.1.12) and see if that makes any difference?

It's odd because I think only one other person has seen anything similar and that could have been something else...

Guys,

I can reproduce this now too, after watching and copying jens video. Happens repeatedly, every time.
I thought it might be the skin, but it does it with the default skin for me too.

The trick seems to be to choose the selection arrow, hold down the right mouse button to draw the lassoo over the note, then try to drag the note to the right, with the left click mouse button.

Crashes every time for me now.

If you draw the lassoo round the note using the left click mouse button, then move the note, Waveform DOES NOT crash.
If you draw the lassoo using the right click mouse button, then move the note, Waveform does crash.

Only happens in the new midi editor, doesn't matter whether it's docked or floating, doesn't happen in the "traditional" Tracktion midi editor.

Hang on ... i've upgraded to the latest beta, 8.1.12, and it doesn't happen on my machine any more

Downgrade back to 8.1.2, and it does happen. Upgrade to 8.1.12, and I can't get it to do it ...

My money's on this bugfix;

8.1.3
- Fixed a crash that could happen after using the select tool in the MIDI editor

That sounds promising. Jens, have you tried the v8.1.12 beta?
