MIDI input switch? MIDI input probability mixer?

Hi folks,
I'm really starting to appreciate MuLab's modular view for MIDI and audio routing. It provides a very intuitive, visual way to setup even complex mixer and recoding arrangements. Other DAW's accomplish this through tedious menus and sends.
I'm sprinkling my MuLab setup with a few event recorders in the modular view in order to capture MIDI data at different stages of MIDI processing. I notice that these pop-up as tracks after recording and are able to playback too. Right now, I enter the modular view and manually connect and disconnect event recorders to determine what I hear during playback. Are there some MUX modules that might allow me to make an interface instead? For example:
(1) Is there a switch that would allow me to decide which one of several MIDI inputs I want to be active?
(2) Is there a probability mixer that would allow me to variably set the chance that the next note would come from one MIDI input or another MIDI input?
Thank you,

I'm still developing a workflow. Recently, I'm using some interactive step sequencing tools in Reaktor to produce raw material. I want to cut the best parts from this as MIDI clips and put them into a MIDI player and add some randomness and variation to them. Then I hope to arrange the results in a more traditional way. We will see if it works!
Increasingly I see that getting interesting sounds is much easier than composing and arranging.

bibz1st,
I remember seeing a MUX module that sends notes to different channels, either randomly or with rotation. But, that is not what I'm trying to do.
I'd like to extract an interesting phrase from a sea of source material and then create random variations of that phrase.

I dont use it myself, there is also something similar (ish) called Rax N Trax which might also interest you, the bonus is its free for Mulab users.

Right, I tried Rax N Trax's Modulys a year or so ago. I don't remember it having many probabilistic features for use with MIDI files/clips. I'll have another look. Nora looks perfect though. Thanks.

Just had another look at Rax site, there is something called Wanderys, a so called Phrase Variator, ignore me if you've already seen it.d.vyd wrote:Right, I tried Rax N Trax's Modulys a year or so ago. Thank you bibz1st. Wanderys looks very useful. My sense, though, is that the RaxNTrax tools do not read and write MIDI. Modulys, at least, cannot import a MIDI file. You must develop and explore the phrases within the tool. I'll take a closer look at Wanderys to confirm.
