I've been using MRecorder to make YouTube video of my DAW, but there is a sync issue. I believe the problem is with my host however, so I don't think you can fix it. However my request is the ability to open an audio stream to another sound card, so I can record my voice and my DAW at the same time. I started using Voxengos recorder and it does this and it saves lots of time. No sync issues and I don't even have to worry about aligning the time afterward, so it saves a lot of time. The problem is it's only 32bit and I don't know how well it is supported.
If it's too much trouble I understand, but if possible it would be nice to have the ability to stream audio from MRecorder to another sound card(using MME or something else besides ASIO). Thanks.

I'm afraid that really won't be possible. Accessing soundcards is rather complex and can be very problematic especially inside the host, which already opens some of them.

Btw. why don't you simply let your host access multiple soundcards at the same time. I believe it should be possible with all good hosts (e.g. Cubase). Not that I'd ever need this
, but it's a common practice when having huge number of inputs for instance.

Sonar can't or at least on my system it doesn't seem to be able to. Perhaps its possible with 2 ASIO driver, but not with ASIO and MME or WMD. I understand you don't have time for it though, thanks anyway.MeldaProduction wrote:Btw. why don't you simply let your host access multiple soundcards at the same time. You will definitely not be able to do it with ASIO because ASIO itself is designed so you can only use one ASIO device at a time(*), but you definitely can use multiple soundcards in Sonar via MME or WMD.Chandlerhimself wrote: Sonar can't or at least on my system it doesn't seem to be able to. (In fact, on the current version at least, if you switch driver type to MME or WMD then, by default, it initially enables all the available audio interfaces of that type.)
(*) Alternately, if you're determined to use ASIO, ASIO4all can create an 'aggregate' virtual ASIO device that can access multiple audio interfaces simultaneously.

That doesn't work though. I need to access the ASIO and the MME at the same time. I need the ASIO signal to be feed into the MME which doesn't seem possible without Voxengo's recorder.whyterabbyt wrote: You will definitely not be able to do it with ASIO because ASIO itself is designed so you can only use one ASIO device at a time(*), but you definitely can use multiple soundcards in Sonar via MME or WMD.

Interesting! I lived under the assumption that you could use multiple audio devices at once, at least in Cubase... hmm... I need to check

Well, Sonar only uses one type of audio interface at a time, so to achieve what you want in Sonar as it is, you're going to have to either use an audio device type that supports multiple interfaces, or use ASIO4all, like I said.Chandlerhimself wrote:That doesn't work though. The only way you'd be able to use multiple driver types at a time, I believe, would be to have Sonar set up for one audio interfaces, and a second audio host using the other, and use a 'wormhole' plugin to send audio between them. ReaRoute from the ReaPlugs pack should do. But expect even more sync issues than you already have.
(Im pretty sure its bordering on impossible for a plugin to directly access audio drivers, though.)

Like I said it's not a big problem, but if it was an easy fix I'd prefer to use a melda product that I know is well supported rather than 32bit software that might be abandoned. If it takes too much work or causes other problems, don't worry about it. I'm excited for things like MTurboDelay, MYYY and the Mixing Revolution, so in the grand scheme of things this isn't that important.
whyterabbyt - It is possible, I have a plugin that does it now, its just that its old and 32 bit.
