I read that the demo for the new console was going to be available later this month, but the actual release for sale date may be August.Temptin wrote: Can anyone find out if July is still the planned release?
Edit: looks like it will be out soon! On this friday, Dirk is flying to NYC to demo the bx_console E. After this weekend, they will prepare the launch which will take "a few more days". So I guess sometime mid-end of next week will be the final release date!!!! https://www.gearslutz.com/board/12711100-post137.html
Now I know what my $50 voucher is going to!
I've got a rather large voucher to use, so would be cool if it's before the end of this month, but I also own the current bx_console, so should hopefully get a discounted offer to add the other console models when they are available.

I don't think that you're going to solve it. Not going to lie, several of the repeat offenders are on my foe list and I never see their posts.GreyLion wrote:+1antithesist wrote:Is anyone else getting sick of a few vendors in the main thread?
(I don't mean JRR, but do you really need to list every product you have on sale?)
I've ranted about it in the past, and I guess I'm done with that. But they're violating the boundary that we're supposed to have here.
Sub-heading for the Soundware topic is "For discussion and announcements of soundware - patches, presets, soundsets, soundbanks, loop libraries, construction kits, MIDI libraries, etc." All these ads should go there, not here, but I suppose they think this is how you maximize sales. All they're doing, as far as I can tell, is rotating items regularly through, so they can claim they're on sale.
It's spread from one and is increasing. Nothing personal against them, but it really junks up the Bargains topic.
It'll keep getting worse the longer it goes on.

*sigh* Yeah, you're probably right, ghettosynth. Thanks for the suggestion, as this solution hadn't actually occurred to me. I've only blocked one user here in all the time I've been at KVR, and even he sometimes had something useful or interesting to say, so I ended up just scrolling past his vitriol until he was finally banned. But I think you've convinced me to change that policy. Life is too short to continue to endlessly wade through what I consider to be spam.ghettosynth wrote: I don't think that you're going to solve it. Same thoughts here. Then again, blocking forum members just seems to go against what remains of proper forum culture, so I guess I'll wait as long as I can before actually blocking anyone, even those who spam.

I try to group as much as I can into single posts. However, if you prefer quick individual posts for each product, I can do that instead.antithesist wrote:(I don't mean JRR, but do you really need to list every product you have on sale?)
Also, if you don't like it when I list the products for sale, I can stop. I mostly do that to let people know about the different things out there. For example, Gospel Musicians is well known for their electric pianos but perhaps people don't know they also make several synths, including a pure synth that isn't sample-based. However, I certainly agree that I went too far with the Audionamix post, I could simply have put down the individual plugins and then written "All bundles also on sale" instead. I'll fix that one tonight.

We're not looking at you, Uncle E, as you always do well to keep things neat and tidy, listing proper sales that aren't simply alternating reissues of usual suspects in technicolor.

Imo it's perfectly fine how you do that Eric! Keep it up!Uncle E wrote:I try to group as much as I can into single posts. Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

I look forward to JRRshop postings in the no-chat thread - don't change a thing, Uncle E!
It's the junk samplepack and preset pack posts I glaze over.

Agree, Uncle E's post is clear, listed all products on sale, but very tidy. Unlike those soundware posts which is more like a shady ad with all the colors, big fonts, etc. Plus I'm never interested in those anyway.murnau wrote:Imo it's perfectly fine how you do that Eric! I totally agree. Love Uncle E's posts. Valuable and tidy. Perfectly fine.
Those sound packs though can go... Especially from that one guy who keeps posting his stuff over and over again.
I'm about to put him on block and send him an email telling him he's doing himself a disservice by over posting. It's generating animosity towards his new brand. I guess that's what happened to his old brand and why he changed it?
Same thing though for anyone posting sounds packs. The other dedicated thread for those is where they should go. I hardly ever buy them.

I'm happy to spend the fraction of a second it takes to skim a post and determine if it's of interest to me.
If it's not of interest to me, I don't mind - it might be of interest to someone else.
I don't see anyone spamming to the degree where the bargain sections of the forum are remotely problematic to use and gain value from.
These regular gripe-fests though - these get tedious and add zero value to my day, and I can't imagine how they help anybody else either.(yeah, I get the irony of my adding to it, but hey).

Perhaps you don't see it, but for me, it's real. The wall of text in between actual bargains is distracting and may cause you to miss a bargain of interest. It's actually quite a bit less annoying with some of those posters on the foe list.OneOfManyPauls wrote:I'm happy to spend the fraction of a second it takes to skim a post and determine if it's of interest to me.
