Don't tell me to place copies of a vst into a rack because those vsts won't be automated. The only vst plugin which is capable of processing L and R channels separately that i know is steroidbouncer. Since there are no many such vsts I would like to be able to split a stereo track into 2 mono tracks, then put mono versions of vst plugins on to those tracks and then to somehow send audio from them to the L and R chs of master out correspondingly. Who has already figured out how to do that?

Select any stereo audio clip. Look in the middle at the bottom. Click "Left Ch" or "Right Ch" to disable that channel.

So duplicate your track (copy + paste), disable the left channel in the clips on one track, disable the right channel in the clips on the other track.

And what if i don't have any audio files because I get audio from the sampler triggered by midi notes?

Rack filter, on three tracks, after the sampler, sampler on track 1, then rack, no output on that track.
Left audio output mapped to track 2, right audio output mapped to track 3, effects on tracks 2 and 3, after the rack. Something like that. So the effects aren't inside the rack.

You are an expert! That's a solution! But those 2 tracks will be not mono right? It means i cannot put mono vst plugins on them, I will have to put stereo vsts and use only one channel of them. It will take 2x cpu power and 2x RAM.
I have tried this method and it seems that those two additional tracks automatically become mono because they have only one input channel connected. It seems so because if i pan such a track fully to the opposite side sound competely disappears instead of moving to another channel. Anyway I am not sure if i need to use mono or stereo vsts on such a track.

You will also need to create the fourth track and select it as track destination in properties of track 2 and 3 because if you want to apply any effect on both channels equally you won't want to have two copies of the same plugin. So you can place one copy on track 4 which is fed to master out. All seems to work well. Increasing number of tracks seems to have no noticeable effect on cpu consumption unlike in some other daws I have tried.

Hi there,

sorry for chiming in this late, I'm new to the forum and just registered my account.

Just wanted to add that you can actually automate plugins even when they are wrapped in a rack. Instead of dragging that little "A" button directly onto the rack instance on your track, which would result in only the automatable parameters for the rack itself being displayed, you just have to open the rack first, in order for the plugins inside to be shown, then drag the little "A" directly onto any one of them: this way, what will pop up are actually all the parameters you can automate for that plugin.
