In all of the u-he synths I own (Hive, Repro-1, Zebra), I hate the direction the patch browser uses when I employ the mouse wheel. I think when you scroll DOWN, you should see more patches that are "below" (or to the right of) the current patch.

I thought I remembered somewhere Urs saying this was a bug or something they were looking into, but can't seem to find it.

Is this being looked at? If not as a feature, possibly as an option in the preferences?

Thanks - hopefully I'm not the only one who feels this way. It gets me every time! :x

The patch browser is currently seeing a complete overhaul. It should definitely be fixed by then, and maybe it becomes a user preference.

This is the way to go. :)

Same should be applied to mousewheel over dropdown menus, naturally :)

Why not use the down arrow key?

Fantastic. (i hate to ask, but..) any timetable on this?

Also, since you said the patch browser is undergoing an overhaul, I have something to request. I don't know how this would be accomplished exactly, but I'll tell you my issue and see what you think.

Often times, I alter an existing preset (from the library...say one of AZ's sounds) and eventually it becomes something I want to save into my own USER folder. But to do this, I have to click on Presets, then click on User, then save. Is there an easier/faster way to accomplish this?

Also another "issue" that I have no idea how to resolve. For the patches I save in my User folder, I'd like them all to have my name as the creator. But to do this, I have to re-type my name in full each time. Could there be a way to set a "default" creator name for presets in the User folder? What about an auto-complete?

Just a couple small things for you to consider in your overhaul.

Thanks!

To set default author name, open the preferences file for the plugin in question (it's in plugin.data\Support folder). The first line is default author name you will want to change.

Thanks for that tip, EvilDragon. I'm on a Mac and am having trouble finding that preferences file though?

It's wherever plugin's data folder is... Search your hard drive for (for example) com.u-he.Diva.Preferences.txt.

Check out our FAQ:

The locations of these things are also in the user manual.

On the subject of the preset browswer, another little gotcha that gets me every time I invoke Zebra2 in, for instance, Live 9, it (she?) opens with this or that preset that sounds good and inspiring. But in place of the preset name is "Zebra 2.7.0 registered to…" and there's no way (that I've discovered) to find out what that initial preset is. :-(

A fix for this amnesia would be welcome…

If it were easy, anybody could do it!

That sounds like an ancient bug that was fixed in 2.7.2 - just download and install over it...

I'd appreciate a user preference in u-he plugins to choose the scroll direction for knobs and faders, too. If I'm using a Mac trackpad or mouse, I swipe up to scroll down on content (a global setting that I don't want to change), and it would be nice to swipe up on faders and knobs to move them up or clockwise.

Logic's interface elements, as well as those of plugins from some other companies (e.g. Valhalla, Cytomic, FabFilter), have my desired knob/fader behavior by default, while others have the opposite by default (e.g. u-he, Soundtoys, NI). Obviously the desired behavior will vary from system to system and user to user. I wish everyone would make it a user preference...
