I have tried repeatedly to download it to iTunes as a flac file, for sale on Bandcamp and any other medium that requires at least fla c or less, but I haven't been able to export it out of mulab 7, even though it has given me the message that it has been compressed to an audio file in itunes.

Can someone help me please? I use a Macintosh Laptop.

This doesn't sound related to MuLab as MuLab does not create FLAC files. When you use "Project -> Export Composition As Audio File", this does not create FLAC files - even if you put "FLAC" on the end of the file name, it's not a FLAC file. If you name the file (which is a 16bit or 32bit linear PCM file with a WAV header on Windows (.Wav)) as a FLAC file, the receiver will not know what's going on -- you saying one thing and doing another. If you need to convert the exported audio file before uploading, then you'll need something like Audacity (which can export to FLAC) or FFmpeg (if you're happy with command line tools).

But the problem is the I cannot even get a .wav audio file from export composition as audio file. It confirms that it it done, but there is no evidence in iTunes that I have done anything. So, a better question is: How should I actually get the "Export composition as audio file" to work? Because I believe that Bandcamp supports .wav or .flac, but only if they are lossless.

It exports to the local directory you select with the filename you give. MuLab knows nothing of this "iTunes" of which you speak.

One of the directories it lets me pick is iTunes.

So.

That doesn't help. And I have picked numerous local directories, such as the mulab folder, the apps folder, finder, and others, and it has failed to do ANYTHING.

What directory do you keep your MuLab projects in? Can you write the file to that directory? (Is that what you mean by "the mulab folder"?)

After loading your project, can you confirm you're doing this:

1) Project -> Export Composition As Audio File
Image
2) In the dialog, click the "S" (Set Project Master Audio File) button to get a default filename, leave the rest of the entries as they are, and click OK
Image
3) Do exactly the same again. You'll get an overwrite prompt, indicating that a file really was written

Just to show that for me, the file got written:
4) Add an audio track
Image
5) Draw in a new part the length of the composition and, in the "Browse for Audio File" use "Go to Favourite Folder", then "User Library"
Image
6) You should then see the file under "MuProject" where it was saved in Step 2
Image
7) If you click the file with preview enabled, it should play. If you click OK with it selected, it should import into the project and you'll see the waveform.

okay. thank you.

But is there a way that I can get the files out of mulab?

Do you mean "How do I move a file on disk from one folder to another?" If so, you probably want to read up on your operating system as this is nothing to do with MuLab.
