Absolutely. And that is one of many reasons I moved host to Tracktion, which handles this just fine.

ReWire implementation is an excellent feature when done properly, but too many "big names" do it in halves, as it were.

Cubase issue you have mentioned. in Sonar, for example you only get 16 out of the 64 Reason tracks!

Perhaps Cubase SX3 and Sonar 4 will both sort out these issues. Tracktion, Live and Audition all get it spot on.

yes you can by creating a group channel , but like i stated when i started off this thread these are workarounds you shouldn't have to do on something as powerful as cubase , i presumed cubase was a top end sequencher and it can't perform a simple task like this....

Hmm What about Vst plugins not showing up in reason ? I wouldn't blame Cubase for That... Start with Reason, it allows ZERO Third Parties interference in their code...They Stream the datas out, and it's up to the Others to figure out what's goin on... I'm Already Happy with the way it's working now...and hopefully it'll be better, but there are limits...Cubase Can't be a Bad a program, because YOU need it to behave diffrently for YOUR OWN reasons...Just Export your tracks like you'd do with any hardware and get on with it, a solution will surely show up someday...

Actually I disagree with you there...

On your first point, of all the sequencer manufacturers, Propellerheads made a particular effort to work with Steinberg, both so that Reason users can work in a more open environment and access VST effects etc should they choose to, and because Steinberg are regarded as world leaders in their field. The fact that ReWire doesn't route things very well in Cubase, but does do so in almost all other hosts reflects badly on Steinberg, whichever way you choose to look at it, and how ever high your regard for Steinberg otherwise is.

And secondly, ReWire has been successfully implemented in every major music programme - far more so than the VST or any other single plug-in format. I am sure that you know full well how confusing it is that each sequencer has its own prefered plugin format - VST, DX, RTAS, MAS, AU, TDM, HTDM, - oh dear!

But ReWire is pretty much universal, which is excellent news for musicians everywhere. So lets not be parochial![/b]
