Unfortunately I don't understand the challenge:
- Can I use ANY Note I like?
- Only ONE note means for example E' - or E'' and E''' and ... as well?
- Is an 1/8 note in E the same as a 1/8 note in A?
- And acustic plugins / VSTi like MDrummer - can I use it?
Please explain the challenge for me. As it seems I am too stupid :(

Is harmonizing different pitches allowed?

Automating pitch shifting plugins?

I need help too!
If I choose G, can I use that in more than one octave?
Can we use pitch controls in MPS to transpose?

As I understand it you create one note in a pitch of your choosing. Other pitches must be created by pitch shifting, frequency shifting or perhaps ring modulation of the original note. Or you use a harmonizer or any other effect that alters the pitch (eg by adding harmonics while removing the root note).

Then there is the note length. This is a probablly a bit more tricky. You'll have to find ways to elongate (eg by delays or granular synthesis) or shorten (eg by gates) the notes.

I guess it is ok too have a single half note repeated again and again. So this would be my take on that: to get the note starting on other beats than 1 and 3 (assuming 4/4) you have to route the note to different tracks using various delays (1/16th, 1/8th, 3/16th etc). The rest would be more routiong and lotss of volume automation.

Okay, thanks a lot.

Main problem to me: What is a note? Is a recorded 1/4 note coming from MOscillator still a note? It should be - as long as you don't load it to a sampler (?).

What about automation, especially volume - is it allowed, for example for a smooth fade-in? I'm not sure, as they write:
"You can use gain and panorama in your DAW of course, but that's about it, anything more complex needs to be from us."

Ha! I'd never think this could be not obvious :D.

Ok, so, you are allowed to use literally one note. I don't mean A, or E or anything, that would be pitch. I mean literally one single note - one single note-on MIDI event and one single note-off MIDI event ;). And sure you can use any effects, automate them etc., but no more MIDI ;).
