Thanks for posting the Nova EQ curve Gamma. If I get around to demoing clariphonic I'll run it through q-clone capture and see what it says. I'm Thinking about subscribing to Kush actually. At least so I can try everything out. I wIsh it included the slyfi stuff too though. But it looks like there is something big in the works for subscription users.Gamma-UT wrote: I'm using SDRR. But there is a free one, IVGI, if you find you don't like it, then there's no need to get SDRR. If you're happy with the Omega, no need to go further.
Image is Nova against Clariphonic with Focus at 8, Clarity 0, Lift, Tight, Sheen and Silk.
I tried IVGI and while it does saturate nicely I feel it's too different to compare. The 458a definitely adds a nice 3d depth to it which IVGI doesn't. Still good though. Depends on what you need. For $14.50 I feel like I got a good deal.
With that said have you tried the Aroma plugin? That is definitely the best harmonic saturation plugin that I have used. You have try it if you haven't used it. I definitely recommend anyone to try it. It sounds fantastic and is much more versatile with 4 types of saturation and mix knobs. Just waiting for a Sale and it will be all mine!!!

I haven't tried Aroma. Looking at the description (four mysteriously labelled knobs) and the Ask.Audio review, it looked to me to be working along the same lines as Kush's Pusher. With Pusher, the "metal" settings appear to be Chebyshev-type waveshapers with the "bias" setting acting as a curve-based soft clipper or wavefolder. You wind up getting similar effects out of Melda's MSaturator once you take into account the ordering of the harmonics seems to be slightly out of sequence with Pusher (one even, followed by two odds, followed by an even).systmu wrote:With that said have you tried the Aroma plugin? From the Ask.Audio review, it looked as though Ploytec has followed a similar approach – the review mentions how "sugar" and "pepper" are very similar in apparent behaviour but they interact in interesting ways – which is the kind of thing you get from a combination of Chebyshev harmonic waveshapers. I think the difference may be that each of the harmonics generators mixes in a little wavefolding, with "chili" doing more clipping/wavefolding than anything else.
I haven't played around with Aroma yet, so I might be surprised. However, as I've already got the Melda and Pusher, it's probably going to be a saturator too far for me. For anything new, I'd prefer to see something that's more like Fabfilter's Saturn where you can use dynamics processing to, say, only attack transients. But, you can always handle that by combining plugins.

Sonic Faction Archetype is on sale for one more day. I sent an email as the deal was closing out early and they reinstated it for an extra day they said.
Anyone like this package? Curious on opinions.

They only ship in UK and Ireland. I bought it from them a couple years ago before they put those restrictions.Fleer wrote:No, but you may find it cheaper through Time+Space with a first purchase coupon.mementus wrote:Does Omnisphere 2 has sales?

After seeing the release video, that's the second thing I checked. Seems a bit strange since they offered one when they released the 6050.
OTOH, it's currently Mac only for now with the Windows version coming out soon. Maybe it's a question of wait and see until the Windows version comes out?
