Finally I think I got everything together for this loop mangling rack filter thing... so that being said, here is the link to the goods! :D

http://subminimal.org/konstrux.php

I tried creating quasi online docs explaining the components themselves, along with supplying a trackarch which contains four example racks. Two basic loop juggling racks, and two granular type racks. If you have questions just post it in this thread I s'pose. My bad if the directions are somewhat vague... :P

me thinks it's time to start making music again...

Hey ModuLR,

most DEFINITELY don't want to arc up the mac/pc thing, but am I correct in my imagining that this is a PC only situation, or is the trackarch thing possible to open on either platform?

you site looks ace mod, nice work! (on my monitor, the white text is a bit hard to read against the paler backgrounds, especially the pink)

cripes mod, i've been waiting for these for a while now!

i'm gonna check them out today if i'm not forced into putting up shelves and things.

gonna try them in T and eXT. i'm rather excited!

Different things, I guess! IIRC Tracktion's file formats are crossplatform, so - basically - you should open a PC-file on Mac and vice versa without hassle. But ModuLR's plugins are PC only, so: yes, at the moment it's a PC only game.

Mod,

You are truly amazing! I wish I was at home right now to play with these. Are these just extra "filters" to add to racks and such? Sorry, but I'm a little confused. But they look fun and very nice.

Why doesn't Jules implement some of your work permanently in T? Jules?

Cheers!

Oh, and for the "Button" description, you have the description from the ASDHR plug. Just thought I'd let you know!

Six... sorry, this stuff is pc only (unless I can figure out this JUCE stuff). :(

Koolkeys... it's basically some low level components from which you can build little sample loop manglers. I implemented the midi learn stuff so you can tweak it with a controller. I'm sure there is stuff I forgot... some of the parameter automation stuff might be off (I dunno cos I forgot to check some of it)... but basically it's made so one can throw a sample in there mangle it, then record the output with something like channelgrabber, or tapeit, or eXT... then use those new pieces for further development. Like you can throw a drum loop in there and get lots of varients pretty easy. Personally I like things that don't loop like a synth sample.. then have the manglers reconstruct it slice based so it becomes rythmic.. stuff like that. Of course you can use it to build other things too... especially if you thow other plugs in the mix.

I might have to take some screen shots to explain how the examples bwork... just know a button connected to a trigger tends to start a process. A button conencted to a gate is what keeps the process going. Variables connected to accums tend to control speed and pitch. Also towards the bottom left of the rack, there are two constants. One contains the size of the sample... and the one beneath it contains the number of slices to break the sample into (in these example racks it's set to 8, but you can do what you want). With the granular stuff, you'll notice something similar.. accept there is a second accumulator which represents the "grain." There is a constant set to 512, which means it makes 512 little inner loops while moving across a larger loop. You can slow down the larger loop but mantain the pitch of the inner loops which creates weird timbre shifts and what not. Fun for dorks like me!

BTW thanks for the note on the site, I fixed it... :)

Thank you :D

my brain has exploded :o

I've wrapped my head around how the first one works and am now moving on to the granufugker, I don't know if I'll ever be able to construct my own contraptions, but these are f**king cool! thanks Mod!

had a bit of fun playing with this yesterday!

made a little simple one, tweakable from my midi controllers, which was cool. just had one controlling the speed, one controlling the distance between start/end points, and one controlling the position of the loop points in the sample. it was a lot of fun playing around for sure! if only eXT would show the proper names of ins/outs on them... i love tracktion and racks but the filters are just TOO DAMN BIG!!!!! :D

gonna play some more for sure

This is wild!!

I wish I understood how it works!!

last night was honestly the first time I had a chance to really conenct it up to my controller and have at it with some weird samples made in coagula. Whoa.. lots of fun. It brought some things to my attention that need to be addressed so when I get a chance I'll make some minor fixes.

Basically.. textboxes which can accept user input should be beige. textboxes that just reflect a value (like midi ch and cc, current step, etc) should be that lighter blue... and toggle switches should be that "other" color (same as midi learn). That way it's consistant.. cos right now it's not. Also I got figure out a way to make it reset to an absolute starting point... that way if you record your actions as vst automation or midi cc's... you can go to the begining hit play.. and have it playback your tweaks exactly as you performed them.

Here's some misc stuff if you didn't know, you can input negative values on the pitch/speed controls if you haven't tried for reverse action.. or exceptionally high values.. it doesn't matter... and if you've looked at the ADSHR.. you can input min/max values there too which reflect the number of samples. Like if the attack was set to 1000... then the attack portion of the envelope is 1000 samples. BTW, don't set the sustain over 100 unless you want it louder cause it basically acts as a volume slider... also you can connect the trigger for the ADSHR to the different things. In the granular one, connecting the ADSHR trigger to the second accum's trigger out would apply an envelope to the grains... while connecting it to the first accum's trigger out would apply it to the larger stepped loop.

I really wish the racks were smaller too!

BTW, you can attach the ADSHR to a Multiply Operator then connect it to tracktion's Sampler.. and whaalah.. envelopes for T's sampler... :D
