I'm sceptical... "first hand information"...?
I'd like to see some reliable sources. There has been a lot of rumours concerning SX3 - it all started as a messup at the Pinnacle site when some bright webdesigner got Halion 3 mixed up with SX and Nuendo 3...
Gimme something official!

Actually very well said.Mystical_Fantasy wrote:I have a very stable system and more now than I will ever need. Why fix something in my case that isn't broke? Cheers!
That's part of the software world I guess... the next version always around the corner.
But if it's working fine then don't touch it! Makes most sense. Problem is in many cases... things AREN'T always working. So, you find yourself thinking maybe this will be the version where they will finally get it right.
funender...
your url sounds familiar... if I'm remembering it correctly then you have some REALLY awesome tunes. And also a very nice studio... you guys should all check out mystical's links! Do it!!!

I do agree with you. Something really nice I'd like to see in a future, although tecnically possible nowadays, is connecting to the net, go to steinberg cubase online, select the features you really want, click [compile and download] buttonMystical_Fantasy wrote:I mean what's really so big about upgrades now? MIDI hasn't changed in 200 years and the current DAW's put out by all the major manufacturers are now starting to remind me of Microsoft's software. Ever more increasing bloat and functionality that no one really needs or wants to create/record music. I've got so much capability in SX 2 that the majority of it I will never use yet I payed for it. Why?

Please enlighten me?Rhythmic wrote:Oh please, you wouldn't be a user of FruityLoops would you?Banjostar wrote:Ahhh... I have lifetime free upgrades
Now their supposed "lifetime free upgrades" are a real joke. FruityLoops used a pretty slick, dirty and successful campaign in their touting of a lifetime free upgrades policy. One of the very reasons I dumped FL was because of this very reason.
FL is no different than any other software manufacturer and also have to keep the cash flow coming but they just do it in a more dirty and deceitful way. You still gotta pay. Later.

It means that the makers of FL will come by your house and erradicate you so they don´t have to give you any updates...that´s the dirty part.Banjostar wrote:Please enlighten me?Rhythmic wrote:Oh please, you wouldn't be a user of FruityLoops would you?Banjostar wrote:Ahhh... Please, Banjostar, unless you have a suggestion for a cross platform replacement (not FL then) for Cubase which has the same advanced MIDI editing and processing features (not FL then), keep your irrelevant Fruity fanboyism out of the discussion.Banjostar wrote:Ahhh... I have lifetime free upgrades
Now, back to the serious discussion. I believe SX3 will have a genuine 128-bit Flux Capacitor.
Seriously, if that 64-bit thing is true then I'm stoked... I just upgraded to an AMD64 machine. Of course, this all hangs on Windows XP 64 Bit being reasonably stable and efficient, but I hear there is a new beta out soon, and that the existing one is quite solid.
On the other hand, the Ableton Live Warp thing sounds like a red herring

i figured Win64 wouldn't arrive sooner than 2006... didn't know Steinberg was at it already... couldn't they say this one week ago?
