Would it be possible please to add a 3db slope to the crossovers?
It may seem like a strange request, however sometimes the 6db is too steep for what I need.

Sometimes I like to add distortion (or another effect) and do not want an obvious cut-off frequency of where the effect starts and finishes. Instead I would like a really subtle gradual slope off, it sounds a lot more natural.

At the moment I am able to achieve this using the slope mode in EQ. However it is not transparent like your crossovers.

Hope this makes sense, Thanks! :P

I'm confused, currently 12db is the minimum for crossovers. Either you're taking about eq red bar filters or you mistyped 3 instead of 6... Or I'm an idiot and misunderstand.

I've asked for 6dB crossovers before and vojtech declined.

Arh yes, your right. I did look at the red bar filters in EQ. So i guess i would really like 6db AND 3db in crossovers.
Why did Vojtech say no?
I have a good use for it.

I can't remember, lets see what he says now, i think it was backwards compat. I agree though, I've had times where as i use softer and softer crossover the sound gets softer and more natural and musically useful, especially with a super aggresive/distorted limiter I set up, so I wanted to push it further than 12.

If melda do investigate more filter slopes, I'd love to see an 18dB red bar filter in the equalisers too, as there's a huge jump between 12db and 24db.

Can't just draw it in MFreeformEQ and save it?

6dB Slope would be great... due to the nature of 6 dB crossover slopes they don´t mess with the phase of the signal... after summing the bands the signal/wave/phase is the same as before the signal were split... Please Vojtech think about it, to implement 6dB Slopes in crossover. :clown:

I actually didn't decline it for backwards compatibility, but because it is problematic... I cannot be sure, but I don't think 3dB/oct can be done (at least a way I'm aware of). And as for 6dB/oct, I don't think it's as simple as you think - the passive circuit used in analog crossovers for double-reproductor monitors might use it, but I'm actually not sure if this is possible at all for more than 2 bands and if it is flat. I'll check some info about it, but my guess is that it trades the flatness for the phase alteration (if it is actually possible, because it doesn't make sense to me, only wiki says that, which isn't exactly the best source of information :D ).

CableGuys ShaperBox has 3 Bands = 2 x 6dB/oct Crossover... Phase is Flat (as far as i see on the Osciloscope)...

Yes, already worked it out a bit, but the magnitudes don't seem to be flat, seeming because of the distortion close to nyquist.
