I can't find this conversion process anywhere in the users manual. Does anyone know a simple way to convert MIDI files into audio, so as to lessen the CPU load? My song slowed down and I got a readout telling me why. Thanks.

Render that track. Place the mouse cursor on the name of the track and look at the properties Panel that opens down below. Click on the Render button. Clik the menu choice that replaces your midi track as opposed to the other choice which creates a rendered track but keeps your midi track there as well

Thank you so much. That was a time saver.

If you do keep the midi track, you can open the sidebar on the left, go to the "tracks" tab, and disable the track with the midi (and presumably VST) on it, if you want to keep the original in case you need to edit it in future. That should free up the CPU, and also hide the midi track from view. Which can be handy.

You can also freeze a track which will convert it to audio for lower processing, but then if you need to make a change, you can unfreeze it to go back.

Oh yeah, i always forget about that

Those were all great tips. Thank you.

You can insert a Freeze Point plug-in from the Waveform Plugins list at any point among a track's plug-ins, thereby freezing some but not all.
