Tempted to buy it just for the visuals. Nice touch adding saturation after the reverb, been doing that myself lately, and a tempo-synced LFO is pretty sweet but not sold on the flanger.

Still, isn't it kinda weird that a brand new plugin with a $165 list price starts an intro sale at $13 ?

Very curious to hear people's opinions of Oracle!
A well-behaved signature.

Even for Soundspot, who started out giving away plugs for a limited time, then used that as bait to crossgrade to other products at 70% or more discounts. Noticed their saturation plug, which could be picked up for (IIRC) under £20 last month, with additional "loyalty" discount, is now £150.

I guess it's just recognizing the bargain response within consumer psychology - a $13 plugin sounds cheap, a $165 plug with a generous introductory pricing however.... :?

Mind you, I picked up Stereo Room and R2 for free from the Focusrite monthly giveaway and picked up Ultrareverb at 75% off a few months back so I'm guessing they have to focus their discounts at a cheaper price point than better known brands.

I like it for some of the lfo-ish flangy stuff it can do. The reverb isn't anything special on it's own, so if you're hoping it's a $13 reverb on the level of Valhalla or Eventide, I suggest you keep moving. In the Oracle thread here on KVR, it's not getting rave reviews. However, I do like Oracle and am happy with my purchase; YMMV. 8)

IZotope seems to regularly offer significant discounts (e.g. 78%) on some of its products.

All that does for me, is say: never, ever, but izotope at full price. Just wait for a while.

Why not reduce them permanently?

They sweep up us cheapsters and inpulse-buyers when they do the offers - people who want/need it at a specific moment in time pay more. I'd think that approach nets more revenue overall compared to just having them constantly at a lower price.

Plus there's the "bargain effect" that many companies use to constantly drive sales - yes waves, I'm looking at you...
