It looks like workflow is the only thing separating the big three soon. Feature wise they are close.

then you read the hype for the new editions and cubase is the only one that goes on about improved workflow

ps logic is now so behind in features that the big 2 would be much nearer the mark - an app without latency compenation using a protocol that does not allow for it means they aint gonna get it

Cubase 2.2 is now at beta 35. BETA! They SHOULD release at least one stable update for it. Same as for Nuendo 2.2 (which is also beta 35: exactly the same engine).

:x :x :x :x :x :x :x :x

And I hope Steinberg will offer better support in the future, but I guess they now have a new argument for bugs: blaim Ableton :)
Kind regards,

Cakewalk makes a big deal out of Track Folders and that seems to be an improvement in workflow.

Not that I would have 80 tracks in a project ;)

Can any of you Sonar fanboys tell me if you can customize ALL of the hotkeys for everything? For example, if I want the top row of numbers on my keyboard to respond like in Cubase (1-Pencil, 2-Line Tool, etc), can I do that?

Basically, can I make Sonar behave like SX in hotkey functionality?

Thanks,

You can import keybindings for all popular hosts in Sonar4, Cubase included. You can even make user specific tweaks and save your own custom Cubase keybindings on S4.

I want the best for Cubase, but I have no real idea if it'll be worth the upgrade from SX1 and as such I probably won't buy it. Here's how I view it:

SX2: No demo. No in store trial. Feature set didn't stir me. Keyboard review said that copy protection required user to perform a System Restore to salvage computer.

SX3: ???

SX4: Profit.

Because he didn't follow directions. He didn't blame Steinberg for his own error either.

Wow. The mods are really slipping. Last year this thread would not have lasted 5 minutes before being moved to the correct forum. :P

All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

As they're linking this thread as being a source of information for the new Sx3!... which I find rather bizarre!?...

Why are companies like steinberg so cut'n'throat about future releases... ?

Isn't this going to cause an immense feedback-loop?

Depends on the delay compensation!
