MIDI note duplicate query

I'm not sure if I have stumbled onto a bug or if I am just using the "duplicate" function incorrectly. I would like to play a short, stabby chord one time. Then, in the piano roll editor, I would like to copy the chord over and over, one beat apart. If I select the notes of the chord, move the cursor to the desired position and then press D to duplicate, the notes are copied onto themselves rather than the cursor position. This works the same way in the inline editor and in the new MIDI editor panel. It also works the same way if I select the notes, copy them with control+C, move the cursor and then press control+V to paste them. Whatever I do, the notes are always pasted on top of the original notes that I was trying to copy.

It's possible to copy the notes by dragging with ctrl held down, but this is awkward because that feature ignores the snap setting.

I'm wondering if I have some obscure preference set somewhere?

My setup is Xubuntu Linux and the problem seems to exist in both 8.2.3 and 8.1.16 (which I had installed to work-around the Linux plugin GUI crash).

Hmm, for me, the notes are pasted on the end of the original ones. However, if you undo this paste, then paste again, they seem to get pasted at the transport cursor.

Something fishy seems to be going on so we'll take a look. Roland who deals with most of the MIDI editing is away for a couple of weeks at the moment though so it may have to wait a little while. Apologies for the inconvenience.
