I'm sure the release is imminent. It's been brewing for a while now. They must be getting close. But the Repro 1 is a lot of fun. I've been rediscovering monos lately. It's fantastic. ACE is a good deal of fun too as is Diva. My only wish would be a little more of a vintage feel/sound. More often than not both ACE and Diva can sound more along the lines of modern analogue than vintage analogue (maybe along the lines of an old roland sh2 for example or system100). But this is not a problem it's just a flavour.
Saying all that it would be good to see this released. It's time.

There's still no word about this going to internal beta, so I'd advise against getting your hopes up too high about an imminent release (unless one of the testers wants to pop in to say it's already in beta). Sounds like the new preset browser was a lot more work than anticipated, but I'm sure it'll be worth the wait in the end.nevernamed wrote:I'm sure the release is imminent. Not there yet! Yes I think the preset browser was a bit more work than many of us figured it would be.Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:There's still no word about this going to internal beta, so I'd advise against getting your hopes up too high about an imminent release (unless one of the testers wants to pop in to say it's already in beta). If the legacy browser works - why not release Repro-5 with the browser we have been getting by (somehow) with for the last decade? Making release conditional on a completely new bit of code looks like a mishtake, shurely at this late juncture. P, O, MF.

My assumption is that the new browser is a prototype for browsers throughout U-He upcoming synths so it isn't just for Repro-5. I expect it will be released in late November-early December...let's say between Black Friday and Christmas.

The place for prototypes would seem to be the laboratory - where - presumably - Professor Fruitcake and Count Kook can do their worst without harming anybody we know.bftucker wrote:My assumption is that the new browser is a prototype for browsers throughout U-He upcoming synths so it isn't just for Repro-5. It does but then it doesn't. I think lots of the things that had to be done are about a much bigger scope than just the few UI widgets that present presets. It's about reworking drag'n'drop, the pasteboard, text input, keyboard control, menus, windowing. There's a major refactoring job going on, hence the delay.egbert wrote:If the legacy browser works
In a normal profit maximising company we would have probably rolled stuff back and released R5 some weeks ago. However, implementing this now and waiting it out until it's perfect is going to be an advantage in the long run.

Sounds like it’s going to be awesome and worth the wait. I was frustrated by the delay, but now I need time to finish this fascinating book in preparation for Repro-5...Urs wrote:It does but then it doesn't. Download and (re)install. The demo is the same installer as the full version.

I was just reading that it took Dave Smith 11 months to create the Prophet-5. Maybe u-he will add to the authenticity by taking 11 months to create the Repro-5! Seriously I can't wait for Repro-5 as well as the new preset browser - sure it will all be worth the wait. I appreciate that u-he gets it right before releasing a product.

i realize there is probably a certain ignominy in posting an image reply but, really, anything i could add would be superfluous.
