From what I´ve seen beat points are automatically created for loops anyway and they get bored here on my side very easily because, I don´t have much use for just time correction stuff.
But they seem to be 99,5% of the time quite accurate in recognizing transients and so perfect for an automatice slicing feature...
This in conjuntion with being able to drag from Waveform into 3rd party plugins would offer some very cool way to work with loops...mainly because even rx2 files are used as rendered audio with not much editing features...
Btw... draggin from the browser into 3rd party plugins would be quite handy as well... I am sure this was requested already many times and this I would even prefer to my previous suggestion :-)

This is something we're interested in and looking in to but won't be implemented soon I'm afraid.

We added this in 8.2.3, when you select a file in the browser, the icon changes to a file that you can drag to perform a real file drag. Plugins that support file drags can then intercept this and do what they will with it...

You really need to communicate better :-)

Searched the release notes and just found this:
- Added 3rd party file drag to the Files and Search panel
I am not native english speaker... but this (to me) sounds not as an information for being able to drag now files from the browser to 3rd party plugins... more like it works other way round...
Anyway... thx very much for this :-)

I don´t want to be ungrateful, but do you think it would be possible to extend this to audio clips from the timeline???

Post

Agreed, that message in the change log could be better worded...

Audio clips from the timeline is a bit more difficult because what is being played back is not necessarily the original audio file. It could have left/right channels enabled/disabled, pan, gain etc. Pitch/speed adjustments, time-stretching, warp time, clip FX...
All of this means that there's not a simple drag-to-plugin paradigm. We are looking into this though so stay tuned...
