MFXxx wrote:So if I understood this correctly it's basically 5% of the RRP.
So Gold is currently $199.99 (or less in other outlets), the transfer fee would be $79.90 of the $799 RRP.
5% would be half that... about forty bucks.

I fear we get this now without WUP going away or becoming more reasonable.

I have a bunch of singles and one of the littlest bundles... all mostly out of WUP.

They had an offer recently for 25% off WUP, which may still be going on... I just couldn't do it, but will probably bite the bullet at full price when I actually have to to be able to use them.

Mine are all still working fine at the latest version with the latest Mac OS.

Liking Waves less and less as time goes by, but I still buy the occasional plug-in from them... more out of habit and impulse than anything else.

Yeah, even with the vouchers these aren't the best prices they've had on these plugins. $199 for HG-2? Yeah, no.
HG-2 is $149.

The timestamp on that is "Last updated on: 7/11/2016 11:55:21 AM" - did they sneak it in there or have they just not been enforcing it?
I received this answer from the support on August 31st

Hi,

Yes, here are the steps for transferring a license from one account to another. Each license being transferred will need to be covered under the Waves Update Plan. You can skip steps 4 - 6 below if the products are each under $700 normal list price.

1) First make sure your license has been updated to version 9.x in your Waves Account.

2) If your version 9.x license has been authorized, please move the license back up to the cloud from within the Waves Central Application.

3) Please send an e-mail to xxxx@waves.com (from the registered e-mail address) with the following information:

Waves Login (where the license is registered): ______________
Waves Login (where the license needs to be moved): ______________
Waves Serial Number/s being transferred: ________________

4) There is a $150 transfer fee for products $700 normal list price or higher. This transfer fee will cover as many licenses as you need to transfer at one time. There is not a transfer fee for products under $700 normal list price.

5) Upon receiving your e-mail we will confirm the following steps are complete and then e-mail you a credit card authorization form to complete this transfer payment (or it can be done via PayPal).

6) Once this payment is finished we will complete the transfer. The Waves Update Plan end date will be transferred to the new owner as well.

I am sure it was not there a few days ago. I was talking with someone about Gold's transfer fee in another thread and the content hasn't been updated.
It was just confirmed in the Waves Aduiophiles Facebook Group, that this change was made yesterday. The date has been updated.

With that a huge part of their plugin + bundle catalog is practicly NFR.
...and a big thx to WAVES for neither given a heads up to it (as in "Beginning in October the policy will be...") nor making this even a thing worth mentioning on their main website landing page !
I surely do know what vendor I'll not buy any plugins from in the future...

so the only reason left to pay WUP is to get help when their installer massacres my system? well, one more reason to switch to small high quality companies (TDR, Toneboosters, Klanghelm, etc) that don't sink all their money into marketing...

Post

A company's approach to license transfers forms part of the value offering for a product.

Can't argue too much about new purchases going forward, but if this new policy by Waves is retro-active, and I trust it is, then they've effectively robbed value from the stuff they've already sold.

This is more commonly known as "ransomware".
Gaslighting...is a form of mental abuse in which information is twisted or spun, selectively omitted to favor the abuser, or false information is presented with the intent of making victims doubt their own memory, perception, and sanity.

I was gonna sell my few singles like puigchild, puigtech and hcomp, but its not gonna be worth the trouble... I dont think a used price would even cover wup+ transfer fee. Ill just uninstall and forget about those plugins...

They need to keep them secret in order to get more sales. That can't be good. ;)

Just checked an both downloads are built on the same date.
Protection is a keyfile so should work on both versions.

I caved as I has some virtual cash left over to make this even cheaper.

Makes a nice mulitband analyser at the very least
Could you maybe demo it a bit and give me your impressions on using it as a primary EQ? Don't have the $ so trying to decide between this and DDMF IIEQ Pro.
Im on Win10 64 bit and like the Mac user above it wont authorise.

I tried versions from PB and direct from audioD3CK.
Installed as admin, ran the standalone as admin and ran my host as admin.
No luck so Ive messaged the Dev
Fyi

I've had no response from the Dev, I suggest you steer clear of audioD3CK

AIR Instrument Expansion Pack 3 Complete upgrade (full collection of AIR instruments + expansions) is on sale on Pluginboutique.com
You can upgrade if you own any AIR plugin, including Xpand2, which they were giving away (and even selling for 1$) months (and even more than a year) ago.
Last year around this time they were also having this upgrade on sale, and it's even cheaper now (60£/65€/80$)
Does anybody know these instruments? Is the pack worth the price? Do they use any ugly DRM?
Xpand is a sampler with really cool sounds, but I don't know about the capabilities of the synths... ¿Any word?

A shame, he was making some nice headway with some great product upgrades.
For me, unfortunately the prices of the upgrades went up, way too high. Considering,
they were upgrades to products I paid for, that were never finished in the first place (IMHO).
Then he shows back up, expecting 3x the money for them.

They are quite good IMHO, but too little, too late. Too little in the way of compensating
customers for waiting (a couple years) for promised updates to existing products, that never
materialized. $10 bucks off ver 2, after failing to deliver ver 1. No thanks...

Still, I hope he can get his shit together. Definitely a nice and helpful dev. If you can reach him.

-Cheers
