This is mine submission. I don't want to waste more time for this. Interesting VSTi as a part of something big or if could be sampled, but in OSC terms - well... nah...

Will give all participants good points just because finishing something with it is already a big deed

ps: why my SC link doesn't transform into SC widget?

Any news of the updated 32-bit build?

Liqih is going through a family situation at the moment, but hopefully soon!

Wow I'v been trying to let run a thousand of automations under Fruity Loops and... The plugin quickly freezes (in about ten seconds) and soon won't respond anymore to any control excepted output gain, right hand filters, reverb...
Reloading the project won't help, charging another preset does... for a few seconds.

Using the noisetar 64 bit update here.

I think I have found one issue causing the volume inconsistency.

A long Release on the ADSR will interfere with following notes. Put a medium release on, and you get a loud-quiet note pattern. Putting on a really long tail and it interferes with notes for the duration of the release.

*EDIT*

OK, silly me. I had OSC2 rate at 0.10, and the AM modulation at 1.00. OSC2 seems to re-trigger when an ADSR envelope ends (not when another envelope starts) .. so basically I was starting the AM osc partway through other notes. I think.

At any rate .. it just seems like notes aren't totally independent even when only triggering one at a time.

Such a weird synth needs a weird soundscape. Imagine a futuristic battle zone where ancient air ships with giant rotors, controlled by robonauts bring death and destruction...

Have Fun Listening by the way.

I'm not going to load this to soundcloud and I'm a bit reluctant to again and again count plugins. So if you can go with that, include it into the challenge or not...

beware of low frequency AM oscillation :)

I did Peter! Great fun ... I wonder what other marvels will come out of this synth!

My submission WILL be a melodic track - *and* using the original 32-bit version - not too many problems when treating it as a MONO synth and routing appropriately - just not too many variations in timbre possible as we are basically playing tunes based on the filter resonsance. In the lower frequency bands I find that the signal can grow, resulting in low notes being much much louder - to this end I have had to do a lot of volume automation to reduce this annoyance in the mix. Was pleased that the synth did respond quite well to midi velocity, and managed to get my accented hats to sound OK.

I will like to submit to this challenge, but are cover tunes allowed?

Post

  any other OSC I would've said "absolutely not", but this time around I'd be actually very curious!
...but seriously, uhm, don't think so, covers are not allowed.

Post

Taron is right - tracks/tunes must be composed for this challenge

From the rules page ... https://sites.google.com/site/kvrosc/rules

•Your entry must be composed specifically for this contest
•Your entry may be edited / changed / updated as frequently as needed up to the deadline
•Cover tracks are not permitted.

Here you go, downloads enabled, and cover art courtesy of myself and paint.
Had fun, and i think the synth has potential if the dev fixes bugs here and there.

I actually liked it ! :tu:
Noise music... and here it gives kind of an hypnotic sound. That's not what I would call "awesome" or "revolutionary" but that kinds of make sense to my ears !

Kind of controled chaos that create strange and gloomy atmosphere that is sometimes required for film - to set particular feel to the scene in order to get correct response from viewer. Make him really feel the scene trough the music (ehm sounds) :tu: .
