Hiya webmob,

thanks man, yes, this looks intrigueing, indeed!

I don't know, but it looks a little oversized for plugins, doesn't it? I think if I was writing hosting software, it would be a great point to start with. But for plugins (especially for mine), it's all about saving space, keeping overview, making things reusable and extensible (and it shouldn't cost money so I can offer cheaper plugins)...

I'm currently streamlining my own user interface framework and plugin engine to make it crossplatform, faster, easier to develop for and easier to design for.

Hehehe, honestly, my stuff has more features in the interesting areas and it has become a real fun to work with. You will soon notice that 8)

Cheers,

;) Urs

I haven't used JUCE in any form, but if you look at the typical binary size for Tracktion, I think you'd be surprised how lightweight the UI stuff is. I wouldn't be entirely surprised if a JUCE compiled plugin was only marginally more heavyweight than a custom engine.

In comparison to say Qt, I'd say JUCE stacks up favourably as a cross platform UI kit.

The price for JUCE is reasonable, but it certainly is a considerable outlay. ;)
Someone shot the food. Remember: don't shoot food!
