if it did that would be a potent mix...
Either of them is so capable, I see no reason (sorry) to use both. I have no interest in the added complexity, opportunity for bugs, sync issues and learning curve. In the practical and musical sense, there is little Reason can do that cannot be done in Bitwig.

To each their own of course...

I prefer the fundamental workflow in Bitwig more than Logic... It's more logical ;)

I could happily make music in nothing but Logic too.

Obviously there are sometimes specific functions that one has and another doesn't. If I want to do something with the clip launcher, Logic cannot do that. If I want to score a video, or compose a musical piece with various changing time signatures, I'm gonna use Logic.

I'm using Logic more at the moment because I purchased a Linnstrument and Logic supports it more flexibly than Bitwig for a number of synths like the u-he stuff. That will get sorted in Bitwig too.

I appreciate that Bitwig is forward thinking. The developers are supporting modular hardware, creative sync solutions, MPE controllers, touchscreens, etc. They are fresh and new. Reason, not so much. They had to get dragged kicking and screaming into finally supporting VST's. :hihi:

Bitwig > Reason !

I think Bitwig is the better Ableton Live. I'm a longtime Cubase/Logic user and went to Ableton some years ago. But there were some things I didn't like in Ableton and switched to Bitwig. All in all I'm very happy with it.

In my opinion Reason is not good for any reason. ...bad workflow, limitations. No reason for me to use Reason

+1 Bitwig > Reason.

Working in Reason feels like working in a DAW written in 2007. While Bitwig is pushing the boundaries in innovation, especially for automation and modulation features.

I wouldn't even attempt to perform live with Reason, that sounds like a nightmare. Bitwig has the dual modes of working, both linear and clip based, which brings it into 2017 and beyond

The future looks bright for Bitwig because of the new modular system on the horizon. Reason has a long road ahead of them just to keep up with the ever changing tapestry of technology.

It's going to get interesting if Bitwig gains the ability to release user created devices with the modular system like Max for Live. That will kick open a new door in the field of sound design and creative expression.

As for Reason, expect to see more Rack Extensions not included in Reasons upgrades with a bloated price of $99-$149 each. While their back catalog grows even more stagnant and riddled with holes.

Good luck having a civil discussion with a psycho who's burned through multiple user names in his deranged vendetta against a piece of software! Hey, I almost responded too; the oddly detailed history of Props business model was the tell.
Good catch man, but don't forget the mention of FL Studio's faults as well. Sort of like a never-ending feedback loop of those two topics.

Reason and Bitwig are both massively powerful pieces of music software. I love the interface of Bitwig and it already feels very mature for being so new to the DAW scene. I really dig its workflow and for someone coming from Live it will feel immediately comfortable. Reason for me is the most inspiring DAW out there and with the recent addition of VST support it became a production monster.

You really can't lose with either of these two if you put the time in to really learn them. Bitwig is shaping up nicely as a modern alternative for those coming from Ableton or Logic. Reason is still rock solid, a blast to work with, and VST support just put it on a whole new level. Whatever you decide, you'll no doubt have a blast figuring out what works best for you.
